Anyone have a picture of the underbody of a 997
Last night I went to the Montreal International Auto Show to talk to the Porsche people. There was a number of Porsche North America people there that were very helpful in helping my wife and I confirm color choices.
One of the discussion points that came up was the durability of the 997S for Canadian winter driving. The Porsche rep stated that the underbody of the 997 is completely sealed and would indure winters(read salt) without any problems. They further stated that with the correct winter tires, it was a great winter car.
Before going to the show I had made the decision to make my new 997s a non-winter car. However, if the statement is true that the 997S can tolerate canadian winters, this would very good news.
The decision becomes important for one primary reason. If the car could be driven in the winter, it would need a rear wiper. None of the 'stock' dealer cars have a rear wiper, which would mean ordering and waiting 5 months. If it cannot be driven in winter, there is a 997S in our preferred colors ready for delivery.
Does anyone have any pictures of the underbody of the 997S. I am not convinced, barring evidence to the contrary, that the 997S is completely sealed against the elements.
Thanks,
