In an open public internet forum you have to be very suspicious, so I don't... yet. Or at least I don't believe it to be an issue or common ocurrence, but rather a rare failure that ahppens once in a million. Look here, here is another report of the same thing but with a 996Cab, yet I never heard this failure happening before on 996. (The above poster also posted the "same" thing here as well)

Don't think so Carlos...why would the OPC be ordering a replacement engine from Porsche GB? I think you have it the wrong way round, the guy on this forum is from California and was passing on the story that a friend of his found.

Having spoken to others it does seem to be a common problem carried over from the 996.

The ideia I had when read your post on Rennlist, was that you were the owner of the car, it seems that I got it right.
Can you post some pics of your car and give us some details like the VIN number?
