I'm not sure what this picture has to do with the Boxster Coupe (or whatever the name will be)???
I understand the message (although I do only because nberry and others did a similar thing regarding the 997 and the Beetle) but if you want to jump into nberry's boots, you'll have a difficult time. He's far ahead of you.
But the funny part is actually: the Beetle and the 911 have common grounds, this is no secret. But I'm talking about the early cars in the 50's and not now.
Put a Beetle next to a 997 and there is no similarity whatsoever, although it might look differently in pictures.
Same applies to the Boxster. So posting this picture might be funny up to some point but only because there has been so much talking in the past regarding the Beetle and 997 design. And it is very interesting that people who don't have a clue about the 997 and the 911's "heritage", like my wife, her friends or people on the street, don't see ANY similarity between the 911 design and the Beetle.
Maybe comparing the Beetle with the 911 or Boxster is just that typical mass paranoia phenomenon which comes up from time to time on the internet...
