Porker:Drove my friend's 812 on the roads surrounding the Nürburgring. That thing is even more mental than I remembered from our earlier testdrive, it is SO unhinged it has to be experienced to be believed. The gearbox is an incredible match to the engine, the downshifts simply to die for.
I stop resisting, this has to replace the GT3.

A beautiful photo. You are getting me tempted But It could not be a replacement for my RS... must be an addition as I can't see this thing going around the Ring more then for a lap of fun. Same on any other track.

Agree if you can afford to have both that is absolutely the way to go. An 812 certainly cannot replace a GT3 for track use.
Ideally I'd combine it with an older 3.8 997 RS. Best of both worlds...

Get a 812 as a fun car and keep the GT3 (or get an older one) for track fun. Makes a lot of sense. Do not track the 812, not a good idea (cost-wise at least).

For the fans of less subtle transport, my Dundon Motorsport race headers + muffler are going off. PM if interested!

If he wants to get shot after he crosses the German border...
I think nowadays it is easier to get away with murder in Germany than having an aftermarket/modded exhaust.

There's nothing not straight about this. When the valves are open there's nothing in between.

I've driven at least 20k km in Germany with the car like that, never had an issue to be honest... Might just have been lucky of course.

I am not sure if anything else is as modern and as fun as this car. the replacement is not going to be easy unless you compromise.
True, absolutely agree. But life is too short to stick to the same car forever, and I'm too poor to keep all the ones I like.
That said, this will certainly remain one of the high points, probably to be revisited in one form or another.

Are you still thinking about an F812? That would be fun (and a big change)

Certainly! It's the only thing I'd want to replace it with (save more exotic things like CGT etc...).
765LT remains (far) on the radar though as well.

Took the Olive to our place in Provence last week. I've always been there with more dog/family-friendly cars, and always dreamt of tackling the amazing roads there with something proper. Child and dog left at home, and off with the GT3, and dear god was it worthwhile. Such brilliant roads, and slightly off-season so no (Dutch!) caravans, cyclists, ... fantastic scenery and roads. The roads on the massif du Ventoux and Gorges du Toulourenc are highly recommended!

Longer run for the home leg if you're going back north is this, up to the alps and then a piece of Route Napoleon:
