    "Engine Miss"

    Between 2800 and 3300 rpm when I let up or accelerate slightly the engine "stumbles" just like a miss with a point distributor. My mechanic says this is due to the Vario but it is still very disturbing in an other wise great auto.

    Can anyone give me some insight into this.

    On a stock 996tt, yes there is a lag there. I believe it has more to due with the turbo's (lag) than vario cam as I believe the vario cam changes around 4800 rpm thru 5300 rpm.
