Mike, I don't disagree with your premise. Some cars are more difficult to drive regardless of HP. You're an experienced instructor and yet you had difficulty driving the CGT which had 612 hp.It is a rear wheel drive vehicle while your 918 is AWD. I believe this makes the car more manageable. No doubt engineering also contributes to its track usability.

The GT2RS will have close to 700hp and be rear wheel drive. Unless there are nannies available, I believe even an experienced driver like yourself will find it difficult to drive anywhere near its limits.

It is not that simple... for example the 997 GT2RS has 620hp - and is very easy to drive fast on the track, despite RWD. Based on this I feel it would be unlikely that the new GT2 with 650hp (Smiley) will be far more difficult to drive fast. On contrary: I would expect the new version to be quicker and easier to drive considering the new 4-wheel steering alone.

Are you still driving your GT2, Markus?

No, I sold the RS as it had approx. 60.000km and the market price seemed to indicate that selling makes more sense than keeping... The RS is a great car indeed SmileySmileySmiley Right now, I drive the turbo S cabriolet. A great Porsche development as well Smiley

Good to see that you still seem to have been pleased with it after 60000km.  Smiley

The car was as new even after 60.000km Smiley It just felt wrong to put more kms on it (quite quickly in my case..) given the market price situation. I also thought that if I wanted one again I could buy a low-mileage GT2RS back later at reasonable cost. Even the current bubble prices have not changed my view on this... I firmly believe that in 2-3 years time the GT2RS will trade at around their original list price again. Of course, in 15-20 years time things might be much different Smiley

Thank good for that. I'm hesitant enough to bring in ONE diesel Porsch to my "stable" . Smiley I'm in good position for getting this, so the plan is that the GT2 RS will compensate the diesel Panamera. SmileySmiley

The question is - GT3 RS or GT2 RS...

Re: 991 GT2 RS (2017) - Rumors, speculations and gossip Thread Closed

It seems to have 4 central exhaust pipes...unusual for a GT3 RS, plus why would they change the rear wing design so much from the current shape if this was a 991.2 GT3 RS mule?
