    Just got a set of Conti ContiSportContact(TM) 2 for my '00 996, any comments or suggestion would be appreciated.

    I think those are the OEM tire for that year, right?

    Mine was a '99 with Continental's and I only got 12K out of the rears. Replaced with Pilot Sports and got 33K out of the rears.

    If there is a small N2 lettering on those tires, they should be just fine.
    The Pirelli PZero Rosso N4 is a bit sportier in my opinion but the Contis should be just fine too.

    I had Contis SP2 and did not like them. I much prefer Pirelli PZero Rosso. Some like Michelin PS2 or PS Rib.

    I've been driving on ContiSportContact2 N2 for 30.000 km and believe that it's an excellent tire for sporty public roaddriving. From what I read in German comparative tests, Contis are particularly good at keeping grip in wetroad handling and braking. I did a full track-day with them as well and overall they handled well. I heard that Michelin PS and Pirelli PZ might even offer more grip... but I can not tell this from experience... so far.

    Thanks for every one's feed back, appreciate it. I'll try them for myself but from your posts I believe they're not that bad.
    I couldn't go wrong with them price wise, I kind of found it in a special deal for almost USD $700.00 for the whole set of four tires.

    The Michelin Pilot Sport (not the 2) is a pretty tricky tire, I never liked it's setup.

    I had the ContiSportContact2 on my 996TT, I think this tire really suit this car. Depends how you drive it, if you don't always give it a hard drive, it's a quite economy tire. I think this is the Summer tire I like the most. I personally think this is better than the P-Zero System and Rosso.

    Don't know the Contis Ron,
    I drive with Michelin Sport Pilot 2 and they're good, in all weather conditions.
    Pirellis can be tricky in the wet.
    Let me know about the Contis.

    Had the Contis N2 on my 996 and I was really happy with them. They're good for a GT-type driving.

    hi ron

    i think these are the best tires i've had on my c4s. much better in the wet than my p zeros. also more quiet, comfortable, and longer lasting. no experience with michelin pilot sports but i've read poor reports on wet traction. dry traction may be slightly better with pzeros but at the price of poor rain traction--bad trade off in the wet northeast states.
