Most debit cards in Germany have a 1000 EUR limit, if you're a good customer, they raise it to 2000.
You can't pay a car with a debit card but also not with a credit card over here (due to the credit card company fees).
Only bank transfer, which makes sense.
Even my Amex is limited (although it says "unlimited" ), maximum one time payment I can make is 70k EUR (not that I need it ). The other credit cards (Mastercard, VISA) have a monthly 10k EUR limit (usually, for regular people, it is one salary or so, most common limit is 3000 EUR per month in Germany).
