New Aston Martin Vantage

As I said in the Aston DBX thread I by surprise loved a Aston Martin Vantage so got it.

Just got it home. The weather is horrible today so didn’t drive it much. But wow I love it. Feels v aggressive and mean. More so than the 992 I drove recently. Much more of an event.

What a great looking car! kiss

I always thought that the previous generation Aston Martin had the better design (and still think so), but with this colour and the black accents together with the yellow callipers the car is just drop-dead gorgeous. wink

110miles and 3 hours in the car now. Weather much better today.
I must admit it’s growing on me very very much. Very few things I do not like about the car. Actually nothing I can think of.
It has a lovely flow to the handling. Brakes are very good. And lots of torque. Very little traction in the wet or when tires are cold due to this. The engine does feel as if it’s being held back a bit and could easily be even more powerful.
The interior feels v bespoke and special. Quality and smell of the Leather is very good. Love the square steering wheel. So nice in your hands.
And omg look at the color combo with the yellow brakes and black highlights. The pictures don’t do it justice.
Drove my GT3 back to back. Different cars obviously. The GT3 feels like bone and the vantage feels like muscle. They complement each other nicely.
Glad I resisted the 600LT. But the 720s could be calling my name.......my Aston dealer is also a Mclaren dealer. Got to resist! laugh

Very different to the 992. The 992 is very clinical. The vantage is much more an event. Between my GT3 and vantage it would be hard to chose which over the over. Different cars yes. In this spec I got it may be the vantage. Then maybe this is the newest factor. Oh boy. Hard choices. Obviously if I had to put kids in the back then 992. But I have my 850 cab for that. Drove my 850 today also. Amazing engine but feels way more synthetic than the porsche or vantage.

The AM is lighter than a 992, maybe you mistook it with the DB11?

The AM has a dry weight of 1.530kg. The GT3 RS a DIN weight of 1.425kg.

We haven't seen the GT models of 992 yet but their weight will be lower than the 992 Carrera S DIN weight of 1.515kg.

AM is the heavier car, if that matters at all.

It’s not exactly fair to compare the AM with anything from the GT class, specially RS variants.

some interior shots. V cold here so taking it easy with the car. But in track mode the exhaust is obscene. Loving it so far . Very different experience from a 911. Much more of an event for me.

Quite a beautiful car. Over the last few months the Vantage looks have been growing on one, though a few elements still appear strange, overwrought, and frivolous. Had seen the AM facility and remain incredibly impressed with it. The fabrication of the chassis and body is very high tech-much of it is glued together-and the paint facility is unparalleled in amount of hand working.

Congratulations again on your latest acquisition.

DIN includes fuel at 100% + all liquids including a/c refrigerant + spare wheel +tools. A car ready to drive.

EU DIN additionally includes driver at 75kg.
