Agree as well, especially with KMM; by itself the facelift looked ok. Direct comparison shows that the first generation had a really characteristic nose which made it (to me) really attractive. That characteristic shape is gone and traded for a more generic shape which doesn't really make it look better.
I understand the "need" for the facelift strategy in order to make the most money with the least amount of effort (rather than eveloping an entirely new car, updating the current model a bit), but I have yet to come across a facelift design that actually looks much better than the original. Update for the sake of updating is in itself a pure show of poverty if you ask me.

KMM:Agree. I like the original better. The FL is pretty attractive on its own, but the original was more interesting.
I like both but the facelift looks a little bit generic now...
What is worse: Jaguar muted their cars quite a bit over the past two years, at least here in Germany (I assume this is valid for the EU as well). The glorious sounding supercharged V8 F-Type lost a lot of it's sound, same goes to the 6-cyl. version.

To be honest, that V8 was, although epic, way too loud. Friend had one and couldn’t leave the street without waking up every child in the village. Not good.

I think it is a nice sports coupe with keen pricing but without adequate charisma.
I wonder why they didn't make the effort in the redesign to make it a 2+2. Porsche's rear seats are useful and the cabin feels more airy than any 2 seater's.
The omission of a 6 cylinder version is a negative IMO. A 4 cylinder no matter how powerful, cannot substitute a 6C (see also Porsche 718). The entry and middle engines should have been V6s.

"Porsche....and Nothing else matters"
KMM:The whole exhaust noise business got out of hand in the past few years, imho. And we are now reaping the results of that, with all the new legislations...
It got out of hand because people weren't dealing with loud exhaust systems in a civilized manner, acting like jerks in public and there was (still is) a whole aftermarket industry specialized on making cars much louder, often illegally, even using speakers transmitting the sound to the outside world, which is just ridiculous. If a BMW X6 Diesel sounds like a V8 muscle car, well... I don' know how the owners of such cars don't feel embarrassed.
