    Decided to give up my wait for the US Sport Susp (-10mm)

    I couldn't stand it any longer. I couldn't delay my order another couple months for the chance that this option will be available in the US. So in a few days, I will be picking up my new 997S (hopefully by Monday). Fully loaded (and no front license plate )

    The things I didn't get, I'll retrofit (PSE, short shifter)

    Now, I need to spend the weekend making room in my garage.

    How long before the option of having the LSD and -20mm
    drop comes down here??

    TopherV, I couldn't get anything official or even a hint-hint from my dealer today regarding Sport Suspension. My choice was to wait until February production and take a chance that it will be available, or pick up the car that I originally ordered back in August. So I decided on the latter. And I won't look back The car is sitting on the port in San Diego right now.

    It'll eventually becomes available but god knows when. I guess Porsche needs to do some major testing with -20mm for the U.S. market before it becomes available in here.

    For the time being Porsche want to sell the cars first -20nn option comes next.

    Was at an SF dealer today and they still have no word from P when sports exhaust will be available (Oct produc originally to Jan produc to now indefinite)....I think you placed correct bet...I doubt -10mm chassis will get here before PSE...

    Ahh i dont want them to do testing for the "U.S."
    sounds like their trying to water it down .

    Congrats. Don't worry about the sport exhaust, it isn't available yet over here in Germany and a retrofit should be a piece of cake. The short shifter is already available, a retrofit is easily possible and it should be available soon in the US through Tequipment/your dealer.

    I'm in the same boat.

    I have the trade price worked out on my C4S. Every month I wait, it goes down (of course), and the *only* reason I haven't placed an order is the lack of US availability of the Sports Suspension.

    Problem is, after two extensive test drives in the 997S (w/PASM), I'm so hooked, I'm already emotionally divorced from my 996, but stuck in limbo awaiting word on the Sport Susp.

    I'm guessing the lack of the sport suspension is two-fold:

    1. Since it's rumored to be -10 mm (sPASM height), PAG will source US-specific springs and dampers. That probably is not a top priority at the moment.

    2. Not offering the Sport Susp forces S owners into PASM; PAG likely wants penetration and market acceptance of a system given the fact that they've likely spent millions of rubles developing it.

    Just guesses though.

    No word from two dealers on it, and no reply from Schwarzenbauer on the subject.

    Good news is I spent most of today clearing the garage for my new 997S due to arrive Monday or Tuesday . Bad news is that I forgot today was my 1 year wedding anniversary .
