Are you sure 20 days? It took 21 days to San Diego. I was fortunate that the ship my car was on was a brand new, largest in the world, auto carrier. It made news in the local Edmen newspaper when it arrived to pickup my car. I had picture and date of the ship arriving to pickup the car, by chance I saw it go through the Panama Canal by web cam, and by web cam I saw it arrive, sit, and then moved in San Diego. I would think to the east coast it would be alot shorter than 20 days, maybe 7?

i used to do some commodities import export a few years ago with my parents, and back then it took 20 days,
however, i've looked at some of the plots on various weather reporting websites, and it seems that it takes about 14~ days to get to the east coast from europe, and another 7~ more days to go panama canal and then west coast.

Just checked our schedule builder and given the vessel sails from Bremerhaven via an USEC port (took the example Norfolk) with a speed of 18 knots it will be 10 days to Norfolk, another 4 days to the Panama Canal and finally 7 days upto Long Beach. A total of 21 days....not bad Moogle.
For those guys who just cannot wait you could ask your dealer to load the car in a container to Newark and then rail or truck it over to California. This would save you some days and cost a few bucks. In theory it should be possible to perform Stuttgart / Los Angeles in 17 days if done via Newark......What the hell airfreight the car

actually i live in new york, and ordered the car through a new york dealer, luckily hey charged me 6% tax because i have a residence in connecticut too, instead of 8% if i only lived in NY 
anyways, the car will likely come through baltimore

i was thinking of asking porsche to arrange something, for example air freighting it, but i thought, i can wait an extra 2 weeks and not feel guilty, and also save money for mods

We are still waiting for the factory to call to allow pickup - and UK dealers are not responsive to constant hounding like US dealers. So Moogle, perversely you may get your car before me in spite of the fact that mine is staying in Stuttgart!!

Tom, I hate to burst your bubble, but there have been TT "S" Cabs in dealer inventories for over a month. I have been watching throught the Porsche dealer locator. Glad your car is on the water. Mine will build next week but will spend extra time in "Exclusive" due to the nature of my specific options. Should see mine before Christmas.

the cars you speak of havent landed yet, believe me, i called the dealers in question as soon as i saw their sites featured Turbo S models.
mine also spent some time in the exclusive department, only took a few extra days though!
