DaveGordon:Good news.. You have no idea how high my level of frustration is.. Mine is supposed to be at the dealer now.
And it is not ? If so, any confirmed delivery date ? I read somewhere that there seems to be a quality issue with the new steel exhaust

Mine is delayed as well. Currently 2 weeks , but I suspect likely to be longer reading this thread.
schmoell:My GT3 RS is being built starting today and the impatience is growing fast. @Dave, any news from your car ? fwiw: heard an OPF GT3 RS under full throttle and the sound is just wonderful. Nothing to worry if you ask me
From the inside or the outside?
Or maybe you are already used to the Tesla, so everything above Prius sound level sounds just wonderful?!

schmoell:You caught me cheating. In reality this car is so quiet that I have to play a sound track recorded from a Huracan Performante - as I do in my Tesla :)
I knew it...

I tend to listen to it from the inside, not particularly fussed if it isn’t deafeningly loud outside. Actually given how noise sensitive tracks are getting I’d prefer not to get black flagged. Ideally it would have nice ITB induction noises inside, but seems like this isn’t the case.

The Performante has been banned from many tracks, so I get your point but there are still possibilities.
I can only say one thing about the "new" 991.3 GT3 RS: I drove to Italy with a friend who drove there in a 991.1 GT3 RS. He was wearing earplugs(!) during the whole trip, which I found odd and weird but it wasn't his private car and he really isn't the type to enjoy a loud car (no offense if he reads this but it is how it is). My son was always making jokes about this and kind of got on his nerves (I guess).
Now he was driving the 991.3 GT3 RS for a couple of days and he happily reported that for the first time, he didn't need his earplugs.
I guess there is nothing more to say...

Interesting.. the .2 RS is a good deal louder inside than the .1 RS when driving due to less sound insulation. I’d have said most of the noise is coming through the drivetrain though - tyre noise, vibration transmission due to less rubber in the suspension. I never thought the exhaust was the loudest component. We shall see I guess. I noticed via the Connect app this morning that the dealer put fuel in my car and it did another 6km. Hope I get it soon.

He was driving the .2 as well with earplugs. I never saw him, only with the .1 because we were together in Italy.

On long highway trips ( + 500 km ) , I need earplugs in my .2 RS
As Dave stated, it is more general noise , like tires and so then exhaust noise that gets you after a while . The car has more of a resonance inside due to less insulation .
I did not need any in my .1 RS

Sure .2 is louder than .1,but think that on my .2 i have a bypass instead on the center silencer..and a dear friend has bypass on side mufflers and center...hahahaha we have broken ears
.3 is sure less louder...last saturday we were at our dealer and the .3 and the Speedster from outside sounds really less loud than stock .2,also they don't pops at start up like ours do instead.
Dave you need to take off something,we can ask at the guys of the gas station,i'm sure they can do a good work.

nberry:Good video. He's right, 7-9000 RPM is the sweet spot. Unfortunately not too many places you can reach that spot on surface streets. Thanks for posting
My Performante's sweet spot is 2000 to 8500 rpm...
