    Sport Seats: Adaptive v. Non-adaptive

    My understanding is that the only difference b/t the two is the inflatable bladders in the bolsters along the seat and seatback.

    Adaptives are quite a bit more expensive. Are these inflatable bladders worth it? If the non-adaptives hold you in well, it would seem that the adaptives may not be worth the money.

    I *thought* I was in a non-adaptive Sport Seat on Sat., but it turns out I was not (it was adaptive), though I did not fuss with the settings.

    Thoughts?

    Drivers-side lumbar comes with adaptive as well

    and all electric setting + memory function. for me it worth every penny

    So, anybody have insight on how well the non-adaptives hold you under hard driving? Electric/memory/lumbar etc. I don't really need/want. Just want a really good seat.

    Conditions good for buying the adaptive seats:

    you track the car
    you have $3000 to blow (good reason)
    you have a back or circulation problem.

    Funny thing in the brochure that Porsche sez the new 997 seats are a vast improvement over the 996 seats. Then they go onto say the adaptive seats are even better.

    Something like that.

    So, reading betwen the lines of this supports the bad back/circulation or tracking reasons above..


    I personally am just gonna blow the $3K

    One other thing about the adaptive seats, the seat cushion adjustnent (tilt) is seperate from the backrest.

    You are making the right choice. For any bit of hard driving, the Adaptive Sport Seats simply outshine the regular leather seats.
