Wonderbar:
I know it’s inevitable, but I’m sick and tired of the Tesla versus Taycan comparison. It’s always about dragstrip type times. Since 1965, I’ve heard these types of comparisons between Porsche and Corvette, Porsche and Dodge, Porsche and Chrysler, etc. Mature people should know and understand that Porsche is far more than a dragstrip, stop light acceleration car. I’m not going to bore people here with the difference in sportiness, racing history, handling, reliability, driving dynamics, etc., but damn it these are different cars for different customers.
Do you work for Porsche?
If performance comparisons don’t matter, why are most enthusiasts concerned about Ring times? I posted a survey showing a majority preferred the Tesla over the Porsche Taycan. They gave a variety of reasons for doing so one of which was that Tesla has been in the EV business much longer than the other EV manufacturers.
I still maintain that cost will be the singular reason in choosing a EV vehicle. Porsche’s racing heritage will be irrelevant. Spending over a $100,000 for an EV is silly.
