It must be so nice being able to dismount the whole car and rebuild it .
I used to do that with mopeds when I was a kid , taken them completely a part , engine also and rebuild them better . Would love to be able to do that on a car too !

it is great fun and to me more satisfying than just buying a new car off the options list...
but it took me a while to discover that.....actually driving the 78 SC through Asia is what totally converted me...I discovered the joy of driving versus performance stats on paper

I always tell myself that if I ever make it to a point that I don't need to work for my money anymore, I'll just buy myself a workshop and a project car and teach myself how to work on it... should be a nice and fulfilling hobby.

Suggested the same to a friend who is head of a local garage and thinks about becoming independent. Advantage of sharing a garage with him would be the chance of him finishing the project should I get annoyed at some point.

cray: the one at Tuthill is just about to be completed and be shipped to Trieste for the Adriatic Challenge which starts with scrutineering on the 17th.
the targa is at early911s in Wuppertal germany. quite the place with an amazing collection of classic Porsche. for sale and for restoration.
