No autographs for me. Signature collection is not really something I have a taste for.
The food was everywhere. The stuffed mushrooms were especially good!
The only food photo I took was this chocolate fountain that you held fruit under. This was good too, although a bit messy.

They had various race cars at the most recent LA Auto Show, such as the R8, Bentley LM, and the Suburu WRC car. For some reason, they do not get much attention, but I find them fascinating just to look at.

Me too, besides their different proportions, they have so many interesting details if you care to look.

Indeed. I actually find it quite interesting what solutions engineers and designers find when money is not THAT of an issue and the main focus is handling and weight reduction!

My mistake. Oh well, it looks cool too. The last one is definitely the R8 interior, on the drivers right side. Here is a little more interior detail I was able to get out of one of the photos. Sorry I don't have something better.

Look at the ground clearance on that thing, the wheels/tires, the aerodinamics and venturi tunels, and that rear shot from that low perspective... Thanks for the pics Gary

Have there been a lot of people at the dealer's opening?
How come I get such a great satisfaction looking at the R8? I actually get the feeling that there was put much more effort into the car than on many serial prod. models - the taillight section alone with the below positioned airoutlet made me spend a quarter of an hour on the last autoshow I attended...

Let's put it that way - your Quad also has four wheels, you sit in the middle and it's lacking a roof. Does that make you feel better...?
By the way, does anybody know what the knobs are for on the R8's side console? Especially the "Dim"-knobs on the bottom?
The only one I can recall is the red "Not Aus"-knob (emergency cut-off). I guess the numbered knobs are fuses...

There were a lot of people, but not too many. Maybe 200? I'm not really sure. It seemed crowded, but not uncomfortably so. I received several invitations; one by mail, three by e-mail (from different sources) and a personal invite from a friend who wanted to introduce me to Beasley. I saw many people from the local Porsche club and Porsche dealership. It was a well organized event.
I have no idea about the R8 console buttons. Your guess sounds plausible to me.
