    997 19'' SportDesign Wheels - Pictures

Seems that the SportDesign wheels have quite many fans out there...

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

    2.

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

Of course, you meant the Sport Design Wheels.

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

I'm hoping the S will look better with these wheels with the 10mm lower stance. This one looks like an SUV.

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

The standard 997 brake discs and calipers inadeqautely fill the 19" wheel in my opinion.

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

RC, what's your opinion on these wheels in the flesh? I've still got a choice between these and the Carrera Classic (can't have the standard wheels). At first, I loved them, but after seeing them in this shot, I'm not so sure. Picking up my S on the 30th of this month, so time is running out...

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

Basalt why cant you have the standard wheels?IMO standard s wheels look the best followed by the carrera classics, followed by the above sport design wheels .

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

I don't like theese wheels .......hoping that theese whells will not the 997 GT3 's.
they seems the MB SL55 Amg's rims ...

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

Very nice and interesting to look at close up.

    "Ordinary" looking from a distance.

At least they will be nice to look at when you're cleaning them.

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

Is that your car RC? Did you get those wheels or what

Porsche have apparantly run out of S wheels until about January in the UK and therefore I've had to choose between the others. From what I've heard, I'm not the only one. Sounds utterly ridiculous, but apparantly true.

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

I like those wheels. Nice pics RC.
I've been using many pics from this forum for flat-6.net (always mentionned from who I got them). I'm amazed on how many pics you guys can come up with.

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

I dont know who you ordered your car from but this sounds a bit suspect to me matey Have seen dozens of carrera s going out of official porsche centres in the last few weeks and 90% have had the S wheels.Who have you ordered your car from ??

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

Can this car sit lower .. sitting so high really takes away from the look .

Of course you're right, SportDesign wheels, sorry, I should stay more focused (or I'm just getting older... ) on the stuff I'm doing. I corrected the thread header, just in case. ,)

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

Through West London. I know - it seems suspect to me too.

This could explain why the wheels are in short supply. The real "product mix", as dictated by customers' orders, is different to what suppliers were geared up for during the production start-up phase.

Maybe another car still in pre-delivery condition? Maybe the coil spreaders used during transport to increase ground clearance are still in place?

    Re: 997 19'' Classic Wheels - Pictures

It looks to me that the car still has the spring blocks that come in the car from factory, once they are taken out for customer delivery, the car will sit at its normal stance.
EDIT: nevermind, Fritz beat me to it

BTW, I'm not a fan of these wheels, a bit bling-bling for a 911 (only a bit ), I think the sport classics are the best by far, very sporty, lots of open space to see the calipers and brakes through, and more traditional shaped than nthe other two (will always look good, not tiresome in the end).

I did an unscientific test when a dealer had both a 997 and a 997S right after the launch here in the US. The rear tires had the same clearance but the front tires clearance were different. The front of a 997 had 3 1/2 finger clearance and a 997S had only a 2 finger clearance. The clearance was from the top of the tire till it hits the body.
