    The more I see the 19" S wheels, the more I like them. Typical of Porsche styling.....you may not like it at first, but it starts to grow on you, and then I start to really like it......at least that's the way it is for me.

    Hey Ron! THANKS for the pics.

    what is the actual measurment from the pavement to the edge of the rim of a properly inflated tire?

    The theory:

    295/30 = 79.5 mm

    235/35 = 82.25 mm

    This seems to be a bit too much, perhaps it is the measurment of the entire sidewall on an unmounted tire, therefore some of the sidewall will be covered by the wheel rim?

    In real life, what is your distance between the pavement and the alloy for the 19s?

    you are right ron ,they all look nice ,after seeing them all in the paris autoshow ,i would rate them :num.1 carrera s ,num2 sport design,num.3 classic wheels..

    funny, for me, its

    1. carrera classics (sooo smooth and sexy)

    2. sport designs (very sporty and racey)

    3. carrera s (what the hell? ugly!! )

    S wheels look _so_ heavy with the huge hub, I still don't get it.

    The new carerras are nice, a little more hefty than the originals, which I really like.

    Sport design, kinda ordinary looking and _therefore_ too frickin hard to clean. (wouldn't mind cleaning them if they looked fantastic)

    I love the classics too. Form follows function, not fussy, easy to clean, show the calipers (clearly I'm a poser).

    Funny but when carerra wheels first came out I wasn't thrilled by them; at that time they looked to me like wheels on a garden cart.

    Wondering how the "S" wheels will look in a few years.

    I doubt it, I'm getting the Carerras. I'm not going to _bet_ that the S wheels will become classics; but life is full of twists and turns. They just look heavyat the hub to me. You have this thin band of rubber attached to a big-ass hub, can't get used to it. Looks like the steering wheel to me. The notchiness is another complication, hard to relate to the rest of the car (except the buttons) will probably take a while. Oh well... life is strange.

    Although the Carrera S wheels look the best, I think it might look better if Porsche produced 19" version of the Turbo ll wheels. Best ever wheel design IMO.
