    Todays Autocar road test 997s

    Just read Autocar magazine and they do a comprehensive road test on the 997s with some nice pictures too.
    quote "This is one mightily quick car 60mph flashes by in 4.6 secs" They loved the car and awarded their top 5 star rating out of 5 .Quote "Forty one years on ,the 911 remains the yardstick by which other coupes are measured.If theres a better way to spend Pounds65000 on a sports car we have yet to find it" .

    i was a bit concerned about them saying that they found the steering wheel "uncomfortable."

    is the wheel on the Carrera S and the carrera different?

    Yeah, I read this review. Nice to see quite a few UK car reviews about now - Autocar had the C2 last week as well (though not a full test).

    I was also glad to hear what they said about the steering wheel. I have selected the multi function wheel and this confirmed to me that I'd made the right decision...

    Thanks for the tip about Autocar, I have been showing my wife the part which declares Pounds65,000 "something of a bargain"

    Thanks for the posting.It was great to see a confirmation of all that has been said,including RC's invaluable contibution. I took delivery of a seal grey/black full leather C2S a few days ago and am still in Florida's speed resticted environment learning of the latent capability of this iconic car.I plan a few photos alongside another icon[from the sixties] in a few days,you may be surprised when I reveal what another marque from England was defined in the same way forty years ago !

    that the NSX does 0 to 60 in 1.8 .. i
    know thats not right, but just had
    to bring it up

    If you enlarge the image, it says 4.8 sec.

    What are they talking about that the steering wheel is uncomfortable? The grip points are the same as the old wheel. How are they trying to drive... with their teeth? My guess is they didn't spend enough time adjusting it. I find the wheel in my 997S just fine (other than the look of it).

    i agree, i find it confortable ,even tough i read this comment a couple of times..
