Looks like the same color as Mike's CGT used to be. Was that signal?

Correct, his CGT was signal yellow too, looked fantastic!

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Update regarding the second batch of 991.2 GT3 RS with particulate filter (EU):

    1. First cars are planned for a July delivery... (September seems to be more likely though)

    2. 520 hp planned(!), certification isn't finished yet, huge issues with the particulate filter (4-way catalytic converter had to be abandoned, doesn't seem to work as planned).

    3. Exhaust sound may more impacted than initially anticipated, due to the abandonment of the 4-way catalytic converter) but Porsche is doing everything to deliver something "satisfactory".

    4. Certification is still going on.

    5. Cars are definitely coming, dealers accept orders (if they have production slots).

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

The point 4 is being confirmed by letters that people who have one on order in Switzerland have received about two weeks ago . They had to sign a paper to acknowledge that Porsche can not promise any consumption , CO2 etc... datas   about the car .

Point 5 is also true in Switzerland

Point 5 I know, but was told a June delivery. Read somewhere on the Web about a likely September delivery  and problems with certification. So maybe it's June 2020 ...

Smiley It is slowly becoming kind of a farce . The guys that are waiting since two years, as they did  not get a first batch , have had an horrible experience . And now it is still all confused  . Porsche has a history of bad communication with the clients . Why can't they just give out statements ? Is it arrogance or is it lack of skills ?

Dave , has an allocation for June built ....... maybe he did not check properly what year Smiley

In an upper management meeting at a German premium OEM one of the managers said, that the customer is in the center of everything ("steht in unser aller Mitte") and therefore stands in the way.  I guess he was right indecision

    The homologation mess continues....

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

Other OEMs with similar models in the trackway-car segment do not struggle like Porsche (e.g. AMG with the GTR PRO which is on sale and in production) but I assume the challenge is bigger for the GT3 RS as N/A engine.

Talked with one European dealer yesterday. WLTP GT3 RS's are available for a late 2019 delivery. But the sound (new video here) is a letdown, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1mTHXeeP9j4&feature=youtu.be&t=334

Customers got July deliveries promised but nobody is sure Porsche can keep the promise, many think it is going to be September more likely. Late 2019 would be November/December, very unlikely.

It will be a Uni Color....

    Someone know more?

Yes, tribute for the 75th birthday of Jacky (Ickx). 'X-blue' like his helmet.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

It seems that Porsche gave the green light for a 991.2 GT3 RS second batch production for June (in the hope that all certification issues will be resolved by then). First cars should arrive at customers latest July. Cars for EU market will definitely have a particulate filter.

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

I've got some questions re the GT3 (RS) and I'm sure some of you can help

    1. My Turbo has PCCBs and they are the best brakes I ever had on any car, but for the GT3 RS I want to go for the steel brakes, mainly because of costs, when using the car as a track toy. Makes sense ?

    2. The Turbo has the sofa seats, which I tend to not like. For the GT3 RS I can choose between the full bucket seats and the foldable bucket seats (hope the translation makes sense). Is it correct , that the height of the full bucket seats can be adjusted, which is not possible for the other one ? If so, is the seating position potentially lower than in the foldable seats ?

    3. I'm considering a complete wrap for the GT3 RS, maybe with some vintage theme. A couple of days ago I talked to the nr 1 wrapping guys here in Munich. They said, that the best car color for such a wrap is black. Unfortunately I'm not a big fan of black cars (I know, it will not be black after the wrap, but still). Does someone have any experience or even has a non black wrapped car ?

    Thanks for your help
     wink

Some quick answers though not related 100 % to GT3 RS:

    1. I have not seen any GT3 RS in the Porsche Club Cup with PCCB. Usually, the reason is not related  to the break performance of the PCCBs but little stones / debris getting in between the pads and the discs...therefore, yes, most use steel discs.

    2. The full buckets are height adjustable, no info on the seating position of the foldables though.

    3. I am surprised what the wrapping guys told you...I have my partially wrapped  car for nearly 5 years no and everything is fine (white and yellow stripes on a black car)...

    Re: OFFICIAL: 991.2 GT3 RS (2018)

PCCB ‘might’ have a performance advantage in a completely heat soaked scenario, but it’s a moot point. Porsche is famous for their legendary brakes that absolutely won’t fade, they designed brake cooling to be the absolute best in the world and they are.

steel or carbon there is really no difference, steel might even be better as they start working earlier in the temperature range. But jus that they have more brake dust.
