    That's the best looking 992 I've seen since the launch. It'll probably only look better with cray's wheel choice. 

    can't wait to see it.

    No PSCB on the 992 yet , but there is a new options for all type of  brakes : painted calibers in black 

    That was probably a factory car testing .

    I had the opportunity to drive a 992 Carrera 4S this week and could make a direct comparison to the 991.2 Carrera 4 GTS.

    STEERING

    The steering in the 992 felt heavier than the 991.2, but also much less connected. Overall I was very disappointed with the steering feel. Numb and boring enlightened

    The paddles on the 992 steering wheel was a complete joke. Cheap plastic with zero feel. Clearly this steering wheel was not meant for drivers who intend to shift with the paddles, but only use auto mode. I guess Porsche will offer a "Sport" steering wheel at some point, if not already available.

    EXHAUST

    The PSE exhaust in the 992 was louder inside the car, but quieter outside. Other than that the exhaust note was almost identical. Maybe slightly less turbo spooling in the 992.

    ENGINE

    Surprisingly the 450hp 992 engine did not feel as explosive as the 450hp 991.2 GTS engine. It was more linear and not pulling as strong. This might be due to the car only having 1500km on the clock and not yet run in. I assume it will open up after a few thousand kms.

    HANDLING

    Simply great! kiss Perfect balance. Stiff but not hard in PASM Sport. This car must be very fast around a track.

    Maybe a bit less rear bias than the 991.2.

    EXTERIOR

    The front has many references to the 993. It does look very good, but is also very similar to the 991. A facelift. The rear looks far better in real life than on photos. Very positively surprised.

    INTERIOR

    The new interior is nice. The retro rev counter cool. Most of it feels like a step up over the 991.2, but... and a very big but, the corrugated matte grey plastic on the dash and on the centre column looking very cheap. Carbon fibre or leather should take care of that.

    CONCLUSION

    Overall the 992 felt more composed and refined than the 991.2, but also less sporty and less dramatic. A bit less 911, a bit more two-door Panamera with an engine layout like a Cayman 

    I am not in the market to upgrade.

    Thanks for the Report, interesting - with all these yes and nos, it might even be interesting for some to shop for a late 991 (for example Targa GTS) as alternative...btw, glad to hear that you are still a "cayMan" ... Smiley

    Indeed. This one has the correct wheels but the black contrast is too much. I am going to do satin platinum contrast. Now I'm going to stop talking spec - its a little embarrassing, and focus on the driving aspects!

    had the same conclusion as Per ! No upgrade needed unless you fancy the big screen ! Price is also a dealbreaker compared to a Mk2 991 or TurboS

    It had a PASM button, but I could not find anything about a lowered suspension on the options sheet. 

    I think the base car does have PASM and then the option is whether to lower the suspension as in the good old 997 days.

    Just want to make sure I understand the comparison. Bluelines compared a 991.2 4 GTS against a 992 4S. Can anyone compare a 992 4S against a 991.2 4S?

    PASM = 10MM lower than base non PASM

    SPASM (sport PASM) = 20MM lower than base non PASM

    That is how it is always been since the 997, which was the first gen to incorporate PASM, and I suspect it would be the same on the 992.

    On the 992 Carrera S and 4S PASM is standard. Sport PASM (-10mm) is optional. There does not seem to be a -20mm option anymore.

    On the 992 Carrera S and 4S PASM is standard. Sport PASM (-10mm) is optional. There does not seem to be a -20mm option anymore.

    I think the confusion is to which the -10mm is reference to but still three suspensions,
    (1) standard suspension (non PASM) on the base Carrera,
    (2) the PASM which is -10mm vs standard (though PASM is standard on the CarreraS), and
    (3) the S-PASM which is the -20mm vs the standard, but only -10mm vs Carrera S.

    So when talking about the Carrera S, the S-SPAM is -10mm lower, but in reality it is what was always know as the the -20mm, because the reference is the standard suspension (-0mm). Just like the 996 the -10mm was the M030 and the -20mm was the X74.
