    997 Artic SIlver

    can someone please post a pic of an artic silver, GT silver and atlas grey 997, im trying to make up my mind!

    My opinion:

    get the AS if you are into aesthetics. It is the color the clay models are made of to show their volumes and shapes i.e. sculptural qualities of the car. It looks stunning in silver.

    The GT silver is just a _tiny_ bit more sparkle in it (lookswise, barely worth the $3K more even though you can afford it).

    The grey really tones the car down. Looks more like a normal car. Good for blending into the asphalt so as to make it harder for cops to see you?

    Sorry, no pictures like you requested. Plus, it woul be alot better to see in person since your choices are so similar.

    I just changed my order from seal grey to arctic silver. Taking a long, slow walk through the dealership, looking at 996s, really helped vis-a-vis considering how the paint aged with each production year. Grist for the mill.

    GT Silver is the colour used by Porsche to promote CGT. I find both seal gray and arctic silver be to very bland. If you don't want to spend the extra money for GT silver then go for Atlas Gray, it is a very very dark oily blue colour, would go very nice with black, blue or natural brown interior.

    Atlas Gray all the way. Although I do like Artic and Seal, they are both very long-in-tooth now.....just about everyone has these colors.

    I like the way a very polished arctic silver reflects blue sky on a sunny day. Too bad, polar silver is not (yet?) offered.

    I was under the impression that GT Silver was closest to Arctic Silver, but your pic looks more like Seal Grey. Maybe the cloudy day had something to do with it. Either way, thanks for the pic--I've been waiting one of the 997 in GT Silver.

    Here are a few more. It is a bit darker than Arctic but not quite as dark as Seal unless it's under very low light conditions (Such as the above photo).

    Finally a GT Silver in the flesh! Sort of. Thank you for posting. I ordered the same color. For me arctic was too light and the seal grey was too dark. The GT silver has the best of both colors.

    I've seen them both in person, side by side and they are both great colors, but for me it would boil down to the price.....$3k is *way* too much to spend on a color that is so close to Artic. Now if Polar silver was still an option.....that might change my mind....IMO....

    Thanks for posting the photos of the Artic Silver! You made my day.

    This is the only color I could order for quick (November) delivery and I'd had my heart set on the Seal Grey.

    Your pictures made the Silver look terrific!!

    paint to sample the Polar option

    that costs about 4k.

    ... however, not worth the price, they might bring it back as the default colour on the 997 TT though

    also the 3-6 month additional wait kills it .
