    This are only hopes of people that don't like the F4.
    I still believe the 991.2 3L F6 turbo dies not fit, but a new smaller F6 turbo maybe.
    What fits for sure is the 3.8 oder 4.0 F6 N/A engine!

    It now seems to be an "official rumour" and sources within Porsche UK are saying that a limited run "718 Six" will be out later this year. No details on the engine the same "rumour" points to a slightly detuned version of the n/a six going into 718 GT4 around 380bhp which would make sense. The four cylinder models will continue as now. GT4 looks like having its first showing at this years Goodwood Festival of Speed in July.

    Outside of the suspension bits and the composite body panels, everything on the car is from the street car.

    It’s got a proper rollcage and the doors are very thin/lightweight. Rear window and side windows too. This is a big aftermarket exercise.

    We can’t call MR aftermarket anymore. They belong to Porsche. The development of many GT models are done at MR. They do all the Cup cars.   It is factory. Just hidden factory

    The full roll cage, plastic windows are basically part of the race car parts, so it doesn't really count inn the first place.

    The basic GT4CS still have the street car doors, but with a race car spec interior panel, the competition model has the full composite doors and body panels.

    The GT4CS has more in common with the street car than a Cup car with the GT3 street car, as per the GT4 regulation for keeping cost down.

    I think the MR package makes it eligible to compete in VLN, long distance fuel tank, additional lights, gas struts, ... all optional extras.

    It is supposed to generate more downforce by keeping the underside of the wing (suction surface) cleaner and with more surface area.  Comparatively, the top (pressure surface) is not as important in that regard.

    Yes it is.

    As a rule of thumb, 2/3rd of the downforce is generated by the underside of the wing, 1/3rd by the upper side. If you have to choose which one of the two airflows you want to disturb, the best choice would be the upper side. Hence thw swan necks.

    Will get a new gearbox, Porsche is changing all gearboxes to prevent a third gear failure. Mine did not show any sign of being wrong, prevention drives this campaign.

    Interesting - is it really ALL GT4's?  I had an early build (Summer 2015) and was told this was made with welded 3rd gear (not subject to problems), before they changed the construction technique.

    I think its from 105/11 onwards. Mine is affected, will change the gearbox in April

    This has been doing the rounds in Pistonheads from some GT4 owners - front suspension turret failures but must be serious abuse to cause this to happen surely? Smiley
