EnglishManInNY:What do they say in the video?
To be honest... absolutely nothing. Generic blabla which he would have sad about any car. Blabla really fast, blabla like a catapult, blabla fantastic traction. Blabla he didn’t like the piece of plastic around the shifter. No data yet, but expect something like 650 bhp and 0-100kmh in 2.7s.
Porsche, separates Le Mans from Le Boys

Well, I mean, it's a perfect car, so what more is there to say than blablabla?
We're at the point where you can be the fastest or just sound like you're the fastest.

MKSGR:Cocodrilo:my friend in south america who buys lots of P was offered an Oct build slot for the new turbo
Based on what I heard the power will be higher than 650hp...
Highly unlikely for the 992.1 but I have seen other miracles too...

schmoell:Thanks, 650/800 then seem to be confirmed for the S. Any idea about the price for the S without options ?
Last rumor was around 205k. There was also a rumor a while ago that the S will be fully loaded (with few exceptions) but knowing Porsche's options pricing policy in the past, this is hard to believe. I'd say that a fully loaded S probably hits around 230k or so.
I am not very interested in Porsche right now (have different priorities now, so I ask different stuff), so other people have more accurate information. All I know (or think I know) is that the 992.2 Turbo S is actually the Turbo to go for... This car is supposed to be a monster (if the past rumors are true, incl. that mild hybrid I talked about).

schmoell:Thanks RC. I heard the same rumors re .2 but wonder how heavy the car will be with the battery pack, additional motor etc. Time will tell I guess
Good question but even if the weight is higher, Porsche will do their chassis magic and the car will be faster than the 992.1. I heard of a 0-100 kph time of 2.5 seconds, this would be quite impressive.

2.5 or 2.7s feels very similar to me What is always good is more power at high speeds (>200kph). That's where the 720s shines in comparison to the 991.2 turbo s. The 992 turbo s will close the gap quite a bit though, even if it should have just 650hp and not more... The 992 turbo s will be quicker than most other cars except for the 720s, comparable to F8 etc. Plus: you have the mega performance in all weather conditions and in a daily driver. Looks like Porsche did a good job
I highly doubt the 992.2 Turbo S will catch up with the 720S...the 720S is a beast in the higher speed range. My assumption is: McLaren allows the 720S to have full boost and power in that speed range, while other manufacturers limit boost to keep thermodynamics and/or emissions output at bay.
Unless of course Porsche decides to go a different route but then, there still needs to be room for a 992 GT2 RS, right?

That's why I wrote "quite a bit". Of course, the 992.2 turbo s will not achieve the same 0-300 as the 720s. How should this be possible... But then the turbo s is the perfect & complete package, as fast or even faster on an every day situation

The Porsche is hampered by the VTGs in the higher speed ranges too much back pressure and heat, they seem to richen it up quite a bit presumably lose some timing and thus some of the power above 250kph.
Mclaren do seem to have some magic here, 200-300 in 12.2s which if manual would be about 13.2s is impressive and indicative of un-wilting 720PS.... the Mac is unhindered by VTGs and I'd love to know more about their water air intercoolers they seem to work well, maybe they have some new/expensive tech in them
