When it was rumoured on Rennteam that an Audi dealer in Paris had a special one-off deal on an ex-demo Audi R8 V10 Plus - it was a straight race between RC (driving a local hire care) and Conny (in a BMW) to get there to sign the lease first...

Frank Walliser originally joined Porsche as an intern back in 1995, having been encouraged to apply by his friends on Rennteam...
We caught up with Frank Walliser at the Porsche Rennsport Reunion at Laguna Seca in sunny California where he was happy to answer a few questions about the new Porsche 935 exclusively for Rennteam...
So who is the new head of Porsche 911 and 718 model series?
You can’t be more Porsche than this...
The career of Dr Frank-Steffen Walliser (born 16 August 1969) from intern to motorsport boss ran along the racing line without any unscheduled pit stops. After studying mechanical engineering specialising in combustion engines and technology management, the native of Stuttgart came to Porsche in 1995 as an intern, graduate student and then doctoral candidate.
From 2003 to 2008, Frank held the enviable position of General Manager of Motorsport Strategies and was one of the innovators in the successful campaign of the Porsche RS Spyder in the American Le Mans Series...
As the overall project manager of the 918 Spyder from November 2010, Frank was responsible for the development and production of Porsche’s groundbreaking super sports car that holds the lap record for road-legal production sports cars of six minutes and 57 seconds on the Nürburgring-Nordschleife.
In October 2014, following the success of the Porsche 918 Spyder, Frank Walliser was given the additional responsibility as Head of Porsche Motorsports for worldwide GT motorsports and for GT production sports cars.
During the first quarter of 2019, Frank Walliser is taking over model series responsibility for the 911 and 718, reporting directly to the CEO.
“To have the responsibility for both motorsport and production brings its own special challenges,” he says. “There’s no other job like it in the world.”
The mechanical engineering graduate will also retain the role of project lead after switching to the model series.
“The integration of the GT road vehicles into the 911 and 718 model series enables us to take into account significantly earlier the special features that are necessary for our uncompromising road sports cars,” Walliser told Rennteam.
“It also means there will be no change to the close linking with motorsport. It’s still true for our GT vehicles: they’re born in Flacht.”
"...and, don't worry, I will keep eye on Rennteam," said Walliser.
