Don't worry, I have just switched dealers, so you have a lot more chances to spend more money there Smiley

    You leaving Vancouver??

You are at the top of our dealer, I wonder why you will switch?

No, I ma switching to Porsche Langley. Shady business dealings going on at Porsche Vancouver now.

Trust me, it was a difficult decision to make, I have been dealing with them for almost 20 years. Their new people are just, shady. From service to used car. The parts people are still excellent and so are the mechanics, but that last group is second rated now that the top 918 guy in North America is at Porsche Langley.

I've been over 20 years too.

I'm good with a few key people there as they are my patients.

Service advisor always come to my house to pick up any of my Porsches for service or repair, and drop a loaner.  Can't complain with this excellent service.  Langley is a bit far for me even if they pick up.  Waste of gas and mileage.

If these key people retire or move, I may switch.  But let me get my Speedster first. indecision

    AJ:

Two weeks ago i had my Macan s serviced at Langley for the first time as I used to trek from south Surrey to the Vancouver location. I was very impressed with the facility, the general attitude of the service manager and also one of their SAs as my wife and I took a look at the new Cayenne. Generally quite a low key and open attitude. Never had any problems in Vancouver and I know a few of the service technicians for the old MCL days. Are you just not a fan of the Dilawri group?

Nope. It was their hiring of questionable people. And what these people did validated my suspicions.

It takes many years to cultivate a relationship, but it only takes one sour deal to kill it.

I had a car on consignment. They had many offers from out of town, but they turned them down without asking me. Reason being they want the car to stay in town so they ca re-sell it many times over. Fair and square if it is their car, but it isn't.

I raised my complaint to Porsche Canada and all the way to Germany. And I have swapped my 918 VIP status over to Porsche Langley now.

It's amazing how short sighted people can be. The "loss" of some future potential income is somehow more important than keeping their best customer happy... Idiots.

Wow, that is pretty despicable behavior. Never trust people whose income is based on commissions... they always have alterior motives. Quite stupid of them to loose an extremely valued customer of such an issue. Kudos to you Nick!

But this logic of theirs is stupid to start with.

How do they know the next owner will resell it through them?

what humps are you referring to?

those behind both seats?  Carrera GT has them and nobody calls it ugly.

What does the CGT design has to do with the 911? They are quite different.

The humps add some bulbous shapes to an already very bulbous design. The CGT is flatter.

    Re: 991 Speedster

They are still big even in person.

991 is such a big car already they humps makes the car looks fat, as if the ass is not big enough

The humps works in a Boxster Spyder, that car has a more streamline look to begin with.

The hump also works on the original 911 Speedster as the original 911 is tiny compared to modern cars.

    Re: 991 Speedster

The speedster never worked esthetically  . Always had a weird, unbalanced  shape .  But it is still a car to get if you want a collector or something different . Just don't get it for its esthetics ...

With the exception of the 1989 911 Speedster, gorgeous lines,  could park it in my living room in guards red.

The newer ones look bulky or this upcoming one kind of ugly.

For collectors definitely a must have, same as 911 R but otherwise, not worth it.

There were rumors of a 992 GT3 Cab (seriously), at some point they said no but right now, I get the feeling that we could actually see a 992 GT3 Cab at some point. Smiley

    Re: 991 Speedster

They better not call it a GT3 though, cause it would have nothing to do with a GT3 and would be lame.

I can see them using the GT3 engine in other models since rhey had to go turbo in all the other models and it is the only NA engine left, nothing wrong with that but they need to keep those models separate, like the Speedster, they are just sharing the engine. Just imagine a DD GTS with the 4.0L NA engine, rear seats, etc...

I was doubtful because a couple of months ago, the word was clearly "no GT3 Cab" but the whole WLTP certification nightmare has opened new doors for "special" models, which is a good thing...I think.

Interesting - my dealer told me more or less the same story the other day as Porsche gets certification based on a specific model set-up nowadays, ie. something like a Panamera with PASM Sport, pano roof and 20'' wheels but with sport exhaust only. We are more or less getting into the old Ford direction ("you can have any color you want as long as it is black"), which may be a good thing...   Smiley
