Such a shame all the new sports cars now, even the N/A ones like the Spyder have such a muffled exhaust now, one of the big appeal of my Boxster GTS is the epic sounds. Only AMG seem to have the knack of wonderful sounding engines, and even those are soon to end sadly.

Not only AMG sound will end soon...Lamborghini as well (as I've been told). The public and authorities pressure it too high to keep this going.

DuckieRS:Dreamcar, I think you actually can access it. A friend showed / proved it to me on the old(er) version anyway...
Not as easy as on a Boxster, but doable.
Ah, OK thanks 👍I did put my name down for one but having had only three new Boxsters, one new Cayman, a used 911 Carrera S and much more significantly a long time member of the Rennteam family I obviously am not deemed worthy!

Don’t worry I wouldn’t!! Especially after reading various reviews regarding disappointing engine and exhaust note didn’t have to put any money down and Porsche were offering a half day experience at Silverstone so......

Gauss:I thought the Spyder was unlimited. So if you really want one, you should also get one.
Thanks Gauss - to be honest I don’t think it’s worth the money to change, very happy with our 981 GTS. The Porsche website does state “limited availability” however!

I'm in the same boat too. I was first in line (with a hefty deposit) for the new GT4. The dealer has been asking me to send in my spec for a few months now, and I keep ignoring him. I like my Cayman GTS and don't feel like parting with it. I should probably get my deposit back. I haven't even thought about where I am in line at this point...

crayphile:Consolation prize for not getting a Speedster allocation. Not specced by me but a nice combination nonetheless. GPF has really reduced the exhaust note.
These guys in the UK can get the sound back for you and then some (as well as a little more power & torque):

Tempting. I wonder what it would do to the Porsche warranty though ?

The product I linked you to does not bypass the filters (though they will have an option for doing this in the future). It leaves filters in place and replaces the muffler. It should not affect emissions nor warranty. No tune required.
Here is RL thread:
These guys get strong recommendations from GT3 community...

Downside being bye bye warranty I suspect!!

Not in the US. I’m not familiar with the law in UK, but here Porsche would have to show that the modification caused the defect for which they are denying coverage. I’ve never seen the denial of a claim from exhaust modifications that come downstream of the emissions equipment.
