Best wishes for a lot of enjoyment in your new ride. I have the same sense of slight bewilderment for lack of a better term as to where you can enjoy your car. As a westerner who has not traveled to your area, our impression is of bombed out roads and other hazards associated with a war torn region. Is my impression way off the mark? How many p-cars does that dealer sell?
Tom
thanks tom . i understand entirely what you are thinking ,this is due to our 21st century media that shows you only what they want you to see .its a little bit off topic but let clear out some things about lebanon :its a small country(10000 sq.km)with 4 million inhabitant but that is very special by all means :its one the few remaining fiscal paradise in the world ,its got a very nice weather all year long with 4 real seasons,we have rain 50days a year ,the rest is pure sun ,average temperature all year long 28deg.celsius ,in the winter its got veeery nice ski stations,in march, april and may you can go swimming in the morning and drive 30minutes to the mountain at 2000m to ski for the rest of the day ,in my opinion (and i traveled almost everywhere )its got one of the best nightlife in the world ,restaurants, pubs ,discos and nightclubs are full all week and all year long ,lebanese stayed hidden in the bombs shelter from 1975 to 1990 so now they are regaining the lost time ,they love to have fun ; we have a hospitality that is a real tradition and that visitors appreciate a lot ; and one good thing for you single guys ,since during the war a lot of men left lebanon to find a job ,right now we have 7 womens for one men (this is an official poll)and believe me ,like marcus said ,they are really beautiful...
the capital beirut is brand new ,since it was demolished during the lebanese war it has been tottally rebuilt in the mid 90's ,and since the gap between classes in the population is becoming wider (there is only rich people and very poor people ,nothing in between),all the facilites i mentionned above(pubs restaurants etc...)are made with multi millions investment and you often see them in the american and european decoration magazines.oopps i forgot the beaches!!!!its reaaaallly nice, vodka starts to flow from noon till midnight everyday all summer long ,in a crazy atmosphere.
since i own a plastics factory ,a lot of travelers from europe come to my place for business , and believe me i cant remember one that did not came back after he discovered beirut for the first time .anyway if rc dont mind, coz its a little bit off topic, i will post you some pictures of beirut in the next few days .and to answer your question about sales of porsche over here ,there is a 8 month waiting list on cayenne s(100000$ and turbo160000$, 1 year for cayenne v6(75000$) , 8 month for 997c2(110000$)and 8 months for c2s (1250000$) and you commonly see a mb slr ,gallardo,murcielago,enzo,modena,porsche959,gt1,gt2,gt3... maybe marcus can tell us more from a foreign point of view?
