    Christian, help...

I've been looking for the english article about Turbo vs GT2 and I can't find it.
( I am really bad at computing...)
Can you reply me a link to the thread please?
    Thank you,
    Fanch.

    Fanch...

Was that article in rennteam.com site?

    Re: Fanch...

    Yes it should be.
Remember Ron, it was originally written by Christian (CR) in german.
Now I'm not sure if the english version ever existed actually
That goes back quite a while... several months.
    Francois.

    Re: Christian, help...

Unfortunately there is no English version. I have to confess...this is solely my fault. I didn't find the time to do a good translation, sorry.
If you have questions, I might be able to answer them.

    Re: Christian, help...

    fanch,
try this out-- altavista's babelfish translator is better than nothing i suppose

    http://babelfish.altavista.com/babelfish/urltrurl?url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.rennteam.com%2Fshowthreaded.php%3FCat%3D%26Board%3Dtfb_de%26Number%3D207%26page%3D0%26view%3Dexpanded%26sb%3D5%26o%3Dall%26fpart%3D1&lp=de_en&tt=url

PS. i'm just back from barcelona -- brillant city, but no nice cars at all. i just saw 2 porsches: 1 turbo with german license plate, 1 boxster with a french license plate

    Well...

You're gonna think I'm really annal
but it's again the "comfort" question regarding the lower GT2 suspension setup (similar to the X73 setup I suppose although different I know...) compared to the Turbo.
Basically, do you need a back massage after every time you drive with such a setup?
Which in essence is not a bad idea but seriously...
The other thing is, I wouldn't want to change front spoiler every 1000 km because of town driving.
From a performance point of view, I know the Turbo X50 actually sticks to the GT2's arse up to 200kmh which is good enough for me
    Francois.
PS: When looking for that translation, I realized there is more than 20 pages of threads just in the Turbo forum, we go back a long way guys

    Thanks for the link Zzoba!!!

    BTW, been to Spain too.
Didn't see nice cars either but nice people, great parties and very pretty cities (I was in Grenada and Sevilla)
    Fanch.

    Christian,

I just looked at the pics from CR's article, cool.
I assumed it was your turbo on the first pic behind the GT2.
    Is your ride height standard?
It looks as low as the GT2?
    Francois.

    Re: Well...

François, the GT2's suspension set up is pretty stiff but absolutely not uncomfortable, it actually has a small degree of dampening to it that makes it usable even in city driving(not that I recommend it).
The front on the other hand is very low and ramps or speed bumps are a problem, but Porsche has thought about it and made the lower part of the spoiler in rubber, so you don't have to change the whole thing if damaged.

BTW I don't know about the long term problems your back might have if driving such a car, so as a form of prevention I would advise daily massages done by a beautyful tall swedish blond!(Leverage is so important!)

    Re: Christian,

Just being curious (and persistent )
Is you're suspension set up standard or have you modified it?
What about the exhaust, you mentionned you modified it too if I remember well?
    Fanch.

    Re: Well...

The GT2 is not that bad comfort-wise. It also depends on the tires, the Michelins are more comfortable compared to the Rossos.
I'm not that sure that the X50 can stick to the GT2 up to 200 kph, my experience is different. It needs around 520 HP on the 996 Turbo to be able to cope with the GT2. Fact.

well, I'll have to call Mr. Ruf then

That's not what my GT2 friend owner told me.
He told me that up to 200kmh, the turbo is not far behind (although it is behind) then above that speed, the gap increases substantially.
    But that's fine with me.
    Fanch.
