A hybrid is coming as far as I heard a long time ago but I have no information...and maybe this has changed again.
There are various special lease offers available for the 245 hp Macan (facelift!) right now but not sure how good they are.

My guess is that there will be no Macan Hybrid. Main reason being that the car is too small to fit the hybrid tech and batteries without compromising too much in interior space and luggage room. The current Macan platform is not built to support a hybrid drivetrain. Cayenne on the other hand was built to support a hybrid when the platform was designed.
Porsche will launch the E-Macan (full BEV) on the PPE-platform in the autumn of 2021. Just doesn't make sense to offer a hybrid for a short period of time and spend the dev cost on an already outdated platform/product. Specifically when the product will not be very appealing in 2019/2020 compared to other alternatives that start to come out in the market space.
If your friend want a Porsche hybrid SUV the Cayenne is probably the way to go. If it was me I'd definitely skip the hybrid and go for a full BEV. Get an Audi E-tron instead of the Macan.

Regarding Macan...not sure if there will be one. But, if yes...it would be with the specs of his brother, the Q5 Hybrid:
-2.0 TSI 252hp + 107hp electric. Total power peak of 300hp
-Plug-in hybrid
-65km range in electric mode
Was suposed to arrive next month, but not sure what happened due to the WLTP

The Q5 is built on a newer platform than the Macan, isn't it? The Macan is still based on the previous gen Q5 platform?
To be honest I'm quite lost with VW group platforms, but anyway, the previous Q5 had an Hybrid version (2014) too:
-2.0 TSI 211hp, 245hp combined with the electric
- Non plug-in hybrid
-3km range in electric mode (100kmh max)

There is no point in a pure electric version of either right now. Porsche's first electric car is Taycan, they will see how the reception is to that car before trying anything else.
I will get one, the Taycan, simply because it's the best one right now, night and day better than any Tesla or anyone else's electric car for that matters. Interior fit and finish will be proper for it's price class, and the performance will be amazing, a proper sports sedan, not the wannabe straight line machine that Tesla called 'performance' sedans.

The current Macan including the facelift is based on the old Q5 platform so there is not enough room for batteries and hybrid powertrain.
The next Macan based on the new Q5 platform will have hybrid engines...
I remember when sex was safe and motor racing was dangerous...
