PSG:Are the cars being delivered next year with the particulate filter 20 ps less? I heard that rumor. Can anyone with a confirmed allocation for a car next year confirm or deny what if any impact there is?
I heard that power stays the same...only sound changes.

And apparently, no filter for US cars? Will they make more power than RoW or be detuned to be equal? BMW makes US cars without filter and with more hp...

I have no clue but it is my understanding that power stays the same.

Thanks RC, will be interesting to see how this plays out for all models coming next year that are potentially using the 4.0 engine. Got my heart set on a 718 spyder to replace my Boxster S if the car is naturally aspirated once again. If not, I’ll keep the Boxster S with its glorious sounding 3.4. Just hope that if everything comes together the filter doesn’t try too hard in muting the noise.
4trac:Any idea how successful the Alpine is so far? (Sales-wise...) Is it hard to get, or are there lots of them in dealers?
When I did my test drive last summer, waiting list was one year . I can't say I see many around , just once and a while, but , according to the dealer at the time, orders were above plans . I f recall correctly , was about 3000 cars

Interesting- I did see that they announced all 1955 Premiere editions are now built (and sold), and production moves to a cheaper base version plus a more optioned one. Too bad Renault is a big zero in NA, I’d love to use an A110 on studded tires as a winter fun car...
2017 Range Rover Sport S/C, 2009 Porsche 911S
The Premiere Edition are sold here at a premium by the speculators .
The A110 on studded tires on your snow covered roads must be the best thing one can imagine . Not too much power, small car, very light and agile , perfect weight balance .

Here's an interesting car that was at my dealer. I asked if it was a Weissach car awaiting magnesium wheels and the guys there said no just a normal car. Some how without optioning it, the customer got the carbon fiber hood (non-painted). Strange mistake considering some US Weissach cars got shipped with the painted hoods because they didn't have enough carbon fiber hoods...They double checked the spec sheet in the system and no mention of the hood anywhere.
Oh and if anyone is interested they have a beautifully spec'd GT3 touring they offered me. Not in the market at the moment (thanks Apple price drop), and I have a physical injury that makes driving a manual difficult so obviously passed. A customer had this on order when at the last second they got him a GT2RS allocation. They found out he was going to flip it and they let him know that they wouldn't sell him any more cars and Porsche would put him on a no sale list if he did so. Not sure if that's true, but they are a MSRP dealer.
Ferdie:That GT3 looks awesome but man... with that missing wing there must be a nice rebate.
The GT2 bonnet always comes in cf, only the Weissach package features the painted middle stripe.
That's a GT3 RS though with that cf bonnet. Not a 2...

My bad, I clearly didn’t sleep enough... that is weird indeed. The bonnet on the non-Weissach cars would be cf anyhow, albeit not visible. From my memory the Weissach cars that had been delivered incomplete were equipped with aluminium ones altogether.

GT2RS and GT3RS shares the same bonnet

No, they came with the standard RS bonnet , carbon but painted .
Mine is now at the dealer waiting for me to have it installed

So all that hassle for some visual carbon... Quite surprising that they can finish enough cf bonnets in time but not the visible layer on top.
Gnil:yes, indeed . All that for the last shiny layer ...... at least we have now 2 bonnets , and they are worth a fortune ..... nearly pays for the whole WP
A spare CF bonnet would make an interesting coffee table; perhaps artfully balanced on a set of magnesium wheels....
