PSG:Has anyone heard anything about there being any more GT3 RS being delivered in Europe this year or next year? I have a friend who is desperate to get some good news that his order might turn into an actual allocation. He placed an order with several dealers in Switzerland and in Germany but all are saying there will be no more cars. Can this really be true? Have emissions regulations stopped production of more GT3 RS totally? I thought people were talking about there being some mores cars coming but with a particulate filter which would be better than no more cars even if the power and noise are reduced as a result.
We have a Swiss user who got an allocation for June 2019 .... they are coming .....

Thanks guys, perhaps the message is that he was too far down the list of people waiting to stand a chance of getting one of the few cars available at these dealers. I guess it comes down to the demand far exceeding supply. Especially in these times of strict emissions regulations. I wonder what difference the particulate filter will make on the 2019 car coming through. Awesome that they are producing more cars just hope there’s no degraded performance or noise from that glorious 4.0 engine.

The biggest question mark regarding the particulate filter (this is valid for all cars, not only for Porsche or the GT3 RS) is: How well will they work in a year, two years or five years from now on? They have been barely tested, the reliability is questionable, some filters tend to clog and whatnot, so this could be a huge issue after a couple of years. 
I am surprised nobody seems to talk about that. 
I know an engineer from BMW and one from Porsche and both are very concerned with this issue.

RC:The biggest question mark regarding the particulate filter (this is valid for all cars, not only for Porsche or the GT3 RS) is: How well will they work in a year, two years or five years from now on? They have been barely tested, the reliability is questionable, some filters tend to clog and whatnot, so this could be a huge issue after a couple of years.
The filters will be removed asap by the users so there will be no issue, the filters will be as good as new :)
Sorry guys no comment at the moment we don’t have that problem in Dubai. But the way it’s going in the end the cars will have to remove nothing which means they will either run on fuel cells or batteries. So the combustion engine will be dead soon. Sad for us but good for our planet and since we have no other place to live I believe it’s a good thing.

I wonder if the filter with have flanges where it can be bolted in (and replaced with an open pipe) or whether it will be welded in to the larger exhaust (making it difficult and expensive to replace)?

Not really sure they can be that easily "manipulated"...there may be a few surprises here.

What is the case with diesel PF? I don't think they can be removed and run the car without them. I expect petrol PFs will work the same.
Second, after a decade diesel PFs seem to work without general problems. They are self cleaning in that there is an engine software facility that burns any residues or they are quickly burnt by a short drive in a lower gear.
I like petrol engines with PFs. All this soot emanating from direct injection is gone. You can rub inside the exhaust pipe without even a speck of soot in sight.

For diesel, you don't have sufficient temperature at the exhaust so you need to artifically increase it.
For petrol engines, it is not the case... but petrol engine release way more particulate than diesel and this is where the challenge is...

RC. My bro lived for three years in Dubai, lived on the base of the Palm, loved it. yes you don’t integrate with the locals so well but lovely ex pat crowd and very open place with absolutely perfect weather for 6 months a year and the rest is bearable. th no taxes is a big plus. rents are below London or NY. so what is not tot like? BTW my bro also had a Chris Craft boat that could do wake boarding and take you to dinner so you need to do the whole thing

I would take care of other stuff, I doubt I could work in my profession in Dubai. I know my car stuff, maybe I could sell cars with a German English accent . To be honest: I don't have a clue what I would do in Dubai, other than having fun and supporting my wife.

I'm a drug dealer. How does this sound? With a license though, called pharmacist. I can do lots of things (cars, computers/networks/IT, etc.) but I am not certified for most stuff I can do, which is a problem for many companies. I did some stuff for a German IT company here, was related to e-health but they had to "let me go" because I am not certified or licensed for this kind of work and everything needs to be 100% certified/licensed/whatever nowadays.
So how much do pharmacists make in Dubai? Oh wait, I just checked...not enough.

ZahirD:Ahh ok well you have to own pharmacies in Dubai. Since medical marijuana is now legal in Germany I suggest you become a supplier make all the money sell yourself to Some big company retire in Dubai.
Medical marijuana is highly regulated (still requires a medical prescription) in Germany, not even close to US laws and you cannot make a lot of money off it, unfortunately because prescription (RX) medicine has government regulated prices.
