the-missile:Moser:hey guys, does anyone here have any advice on how to sell my father in law's 458 speciale in Europe? Are there special dealers to contact who purchase cars from abroad and import them to Europe? It's 2014 Model with 15,000kms in Rosso Corsa, with very nice specs, the car is in Beirut, and the market here is slow at the moment, so I thought Europe might be a better place to sell the car. His Pista is due to arrive in a few months. Please pm if anyone know the best way to do this.
Regards

You will have better chances to send it to UAE or GCC in general.
Europe needs homologation process and tax importation which is huge and can go up to very high % of the price...

not entirely true - as long as you get from yr local dealer the EU "uebereinstimmung" (EU Conformity) doc which then leads into a 1320 document and then it can be imported for around 12% tax (8 GST and 4 import tax) We did that once from Kuwait and was no problem at all. That of course only if all is original factory.

the EU conformity certifcate is to be asked from Ferrari France (i.e national importer) for french import and you will have way more than 12%.
We did that exercise with my Gt3 from UAE to France...was not easy at all...and lonnnnngggggg process.
in france it is 10%+20%...

It all will depend in which country he wants to import . Switzerland will be much cheaper .
The most important is to be able to get that official homologation paper from Ferrari . Without this he can't do anything . Normally they can't refuse it to him, but they can make the process long if they are not too happy about it or not cooperative .
The other thing is , as an imported car , Moser will have to sell at a bargain as people don't like to buy imported cars . It will be written on the registration that the car is originally not an EU car .
Currently they are about 10 for sale in Switzerland . Take around 20% off the price you see them for sale to know at how much you will be able to sell .

I've only been able to find 4 speciale's in CH. The cheapest I found so far is about 319,000 CHF, are there any cars you've seen cheaper than that? At a 20% discount it's about 255k CH, but I assume that has to be the price after the car is imported to CH. If there was still shipping, insurance, and any other import related duties, it begins not to make sense to sell abroad. My father in law is looking to net around 260kUSD for the car delivered at the free zone in Beirut. So it seems Europe is out of the question if CH is the best option.
Thank you Gents!

You could always test the market . Put an add on the above site , and see what responses you get . It will be mostly professionals who will answer you ( if you put that you are a private ) and maybe someone will be interested in the process ?
