Well - in Germany we don't have enough "validation centers" for the WLTP-norm:

    http://time.com/5430203/new-study-not-exercising-worse-than-smoking/

Maybe in Italy, it looks better, or well - maybe just accepts the value from the manufacturer without having an independent assessor checking it. smiley

It is strange.. McLaren 600LT sounds 'amazing', shoots flames out of the top, yet has WLTP figures and seems to be going on sale right now..

You can order 991.2 Carrera GTS 4. It is the only 991.2 equipped with PTF. Euro 6d Temp. Delivery from end of November 2018. Production ends in late March 2019.

    Can somebody enlighten me, please:

Everybody is talking about the PTF and that only these models are available. And there are cars like the Performante, which don't have a PTF and can be ordered still. So why the differences? Smiley

Has it something to do with the production numbers of the cars?

There seems to be an exempt from the particulate filter for certain cars after the deadline but stupid me, I didn't pay attention and don't remember the details. Also don't have a clue to which cars this applies.

Regarding the Performante: A couple of weeks ago, when I received the information regarding the R8 facelift, I remember someone telling me that the Huracan, incl. the Performante(!), gets a particulate filter as well. When? No clue but I assume now or soon.

No, Germans were dumb enough to get caught. Smiley Smiley

Joking aside: Renault and Fiat are under suspicion over here in Germany but you can't do anything about it because their cars were certified in other EU countries and these countries don't seem to give a sh.t about the current Dieselgate. Smiley The German authorities have told their Italian counterparts about obvious software tricks in Fiat cars but since these cars aren't certified in Germany, the Italians are responsible. Now guess what happened? Nothing. German authorities even asked for Fiat reps to come to Germany to explain and they just didn't come. No explanation. Nothing. Their Italian counterparts didn't do anything. Why would they? They could ruin a whole industry. Smiley

Man the 992 is going to look very good. The proportions of the hips look great in pictures. Sadly (or depending on the case, it might be a good thing) 99% of people will not notice the change form 991 to this.

    Re: 992 Thread Closed

I’m not yet convinced by the loss in body colour at both lower rear and front due to the plastic (?) bits.  Looks too much like a crash victim car.  Of course, that does open up an option to paint these parts body colour, for a few thousand Euro more...

The car has very nice proportions and looks sleek and a bit  more ' elegant ' angry

I like the general shape a lot , even if I don't like the size it has become .

What I really dislike and think is a major mistake is the  back '' Panamera - 718 - Cayenne '' line . Why put a big scar to  the nice rounded back shape ?  It has no purpose except the '' new Porsche  visual branding ''  .  It ends up taking away rather then enhancing . surprise

I agree and all three points, I would just add that I also really dislike the amount of cheap black plastic on the front and rear bumpers as well.

    Wonderbar:

Other than the wider hips, I have a very hard time seeing much difference from the 991.2.

Porsche Styling must find a way to modernize the 911 without spoiling the fundamental cues.

This was done very successfully in the past with the Panamericana Concept and the 993 version that went into production, which looked very fresh at the time although based on an antiquated platform.

The 992 technically and dynamically is expected to be excellent, but it looks old before it is even born.

Since the 996 and especially the 997 we see a repetition with very insignificant slight variations. Where have all the imaginative designers gone?

Taycan as a final product in Geneva could definitely be too early...but who knows?!

If things had change one month & Half before the LA Auto Show, wouldnt Porsche contact the magazines and tell them "dont say anything about the release".????

I know that Porsche is making a big show (dont know where) in January just like they did for the 991 in South Africa back in 2011. I guess it´s an invitation to several car reporters to test drive the cars.

    Here´s a video of the 2011 event.

    CHF 180k for a C4S???

Wow, amazing how high prices are there.  In California, at retail price a base C4S is equal to CHF 112k plus 8.5%.
