The T performed again very well on track...I can follow the big GT-guys through the traffic on track and we had big fun together.

    Nice going!! Smiley

Have you considered the Cup2 tires?  I've been quite impressed with road and track performance and longevity.  Of course, the weather is going to be cold soon and then the Cups will be a bad choice...

The plan is to sell the T after our spring alpine tour with new Michelin 4s in 2019 and to buy another car with Cup2s...Smiley

Has to be an RS then, because GT3 won't be continued as far as I heard/read.

I got the same info last week...Smiley

.2 RS ist too hardcore and too expensive for my type of usage...

I will look for a used Touring (my Dreamcar)or if I can live with the wingSmiley a .1 GT3 RS - they are getting cheaper and cheaper here...also for cars with low mileage. I never could imagine that I would consider a PDK-wing car, but after some more laps on the track with it...it grows on me. You really can feel the aero downforce and the PDK-shifts feel great.Smiley

But coming from a „under the radar“ 964 RS, I think the Touring is perfect for me.

The main result from my 991 T season is, that I really like the 991 platform after all these midengine-years with 986/Lotus/981...the T is a great car.Smiley

After over 4.000 fast alpine roads kilometers and two trackdays the Michelin 4s are gone - total mileage 8.500km.

Are you really sure, they are gone...? Smiley

Looks to me that, for your type of usage, you could drive with more camber to distribute the load more evenly onto the tire.

Smiley How dare you saying something like this !!! Smiley Smiley...I am still on a 991 diet, meaning, searching the used car Porsche section but hesitating to actually jump... Anyway, time will tell...By the way, how are the bucket seats on track ? I mean, you have the "ordinary" seat belts and not the 6-points - is it really something improving the seating on track?

Oh, before I forget: Great PICS ! I really like the 3 car line up in the pit lane! Perhaps, there is a chance to meet next year with the Pistenclub. Enjoy!

Regarding the foldable bucketseats - IMO, they are as good as the 918-seats in my 981 Spyder - but your seat position is a little bit higher, which is no problem for me (dwarf with 1.76m).

This time I drove the .2 GT3 of my friend just with the normal 3P-Belt, because it takes always too much time to adjust the  6P-Belt between driver-changes. Thats a big difference on track - if you use the 6P-Belt, your connection is so much better with the car...you can drive more aggressive, because you don´t move around with your body and you get more direct feedback of the car.

To meet up next year at a Pistenclub-event would be great...Smiley

I thought so - I had a bucket seat in my first 986 Boxster with the 6P-belt and the combination really showed a difference to the ordinary seat / belt combination.

So, let's see what the next driving season will bring. Smiley

yeah, that is their usual response time (in contrast I was told that dealers get a hard time from HQ, if and when customer' questions are not tackled within 24 h).Btw, it took me 6 months to get an answer from Porsche that I could not replace my 981 GTS brakes with those from the 981 spyder (no ABE...). By the way, a lot of new and used "T" on sale in Germany currently...

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

I'm still waiting (been months also) from an answer from HQ regarding retrofitting a cage in my non-Clubsport GT3 in the future.

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

Well, I am still (theoretically) playing with the idea - however, if and when, then the car should be 100 % to what I think I want the car to have...and that is RWS...but, I am would be interested how the dealer sets the price anyway taking into account the (strong) availability of cars...

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

Did you drive already any Carrera variant with RWS ? For whatever reasons almost all the showroom cars (and they are plenty of them indeed) seem to be not fitted with RWS, manuals also are rare...

Achleitner seems to be happy with his manual & sunroof T devil Good to know that there is still an advocate for the manual at Porsche kiss

Re: Official: New Porsche Carrera T

No, I didn‘t, but most of the test cars seem to have RWS and if I considered a new track toy then l would rather have the carrera with less understeer at corner entry...As to the show room cars l guess that HQ played it safe - get rid of the decals and nobody will note the difference between a T and a 2wd carrera...

Thanks for sharing the article, nice read. However, l would rather see the real thing in public than read all these - for me- meaningless articles...l do enjoy my car but am a little bit fed up with Porsche‘s current marketing...sorry...

Heh, this car was at the ‘ring when Gnil and I were there in August. It’s a bit of a departure from their normal GTR fare (amongst others, he had some 1200hp monster there for shake-downs). I was chatting to him about it and he was really impressed with this car - said he loved it). Curiously my mother’s house where I grew up is about 3km from their base and we share a gardener indecision
