    Re: 997.2 Deals

    Bridggar I wholeheartedly agree.

Its interesting especially as I spend at least half my time in Germany that now a like for like a German 997.1 C2S retains more of its value here than the so called protected UK market C2S. I bought a UK car mainly for the residual comapred to a German car but that arguement is now gone. I think the next car will be LHD at a discount

    Re: 997.2 Deals

Recently I was reading one of Easy_Riders posts on how he bought his car in Germany and thereby cutting the cost of the car. Then all of a sudden something came to my mind, about 2 weeks ago I was in slough having a conversation with a car dealer, he had about nine variations of the 997 from carrera to ruf to gembala (pardon my spelling) but couldn't shift them due to low demand for these cars. I later told him that I had placed an order for a 997.2 dec delivery at cost price, he told me something that baffled me, according to this guy OPC are no givin discounts of about 10% in the UK due to low demand. Initially I thought he was joking so I decided to phone up a few dealers and to my surprise one of them was offering me at least 5% off the list price. This is completely unbelieveable as all my previous purchases has been at full cost price with OPC stating clearly that there is no discount of any form.
It seems P-cars are now getting very desperate for orders,I'm going to call other dealers on monday to see if I can get a better deal - y target is t least 10% once tis happens I'm getting my depositback from the original OPC. As I'mon the topic of buying a car, I saw an Audi R8 (used 2k miles) fully loaded (carbon interior, extended leather,r-tronic, alcantara head, all the works) for Pounds79,995 and it seems the eller is willing to go down nothe 6k. Do you guys think it's worth 73k, bear in mind that the car is only a year old (black on black)

    Re: 997.2 Deals

    Buddy,

I think some of your keys are not fully working. Finally figured it out.

If I remember correctly, the Porsche has been the banker's first choice. I suspect quite a few OPCs in those areas are even more desperate of sales than the average out in the country.

Hi Italo, did you manage to find out anything more on OPC discounts? I'm very interested in what they have to say!

was only able to get down to 5k off the list price from a dealer outside the M25 still trying others

    Re: 997.2 Deals

I thought it was counter UK policy to give discounts on new - it will kill our residuals!!!
