    New Car Ocean Shipping to Southern California from Germany

    Does anyone know what ocean shipping lines carry new Porsches from Germany to Southern California?
    Do they arrive at San Diego?
    Is there a vehicle preparation center in San Diego for newly arrived Porsches?
    How long from arrival at the port to delivery at a SoCal dealer?
    Do I sound anxious?

    Cars arrive in San Diego from Germany via various shipping lines, your dealer can figure out which ship your car is on from your order #, thru Edcs and ONVESL (on vessel date). Once you get the vessel name you can track it's arrival into the port here

    Once in San Diego they go thru the vehicle prep center, this is where they are inspected and mats and manuals are put in the car.
    The company that handles that is The Pasha Group

    From ships arrival to dealer can take up to approx 1-2 weeks

    Trundle996, thank you very much for the detailed reponse. My 997S is due to be built in October. I am told to expect it in SoCal at the dealer in November. In the meantime I can dream as I track its movement. Thanks again for your assistance.

    I forgot the link, but you can also go to the port of San Diego's website. They do list the ships that will be docking there. Porsches hitch a ride with VW and Audi cars and with a little research, you can find out when the next ship will arrive. Too bad Porsche does not use the company that BMW uses, with your VIN number, their shipping company can give more detail information.
