    How many cc buttons are usless w/o nav and phone?

    seems to me there are at least 5 or six buttons in the center console PCM unit which MAY be useless and in your face unless you order the navigation option (phone option too?).

    Does Porsche plan to omit these buttons or put blanks in their place for people who do not order navigation option?

    It would bother me if I was stuck with these extra buttons designating functions which my computer screen monitor doesn't posess.

    That is the current trend. Most cars bring the LCD display and controls even if you do not order phone/Nav. Those can be added later as plugins.

    As I understand it one of the main reasons Porsche have done this is to assist in resale for the Porsche dealer network. More and more add ins like sat nav and a hands free phone kit are becoming required accessories in vehicles at these levels, and with the current set up even if the original owner never wanted the sat nav it can be added at a later stage to make the car potentially more saleable on the used market - hence all the buttons will be there whether you use them or not.
