    F 430 testing

    A colleague of mine just called from Fiorano as the 430 was being tested in the background. Sounds unbelievably incredible. No photos allowed, unfortunately, but he's going to try to sneak a couple via his phone. Here's hopin g

    What do you mean? They soud the same, only the CS is louder.

    Oh, come on~ 360CS sounds soooooooo~much better than the stock 360 Modena. Stock Modena sounds like gargling.

    Stock 575 and stock 612. Very quiet and refined, not my definition of a Ferrari engine noise. And the Stradale has a different exhaust from the 360 so it doesn't sound the same. It's much louder of course, but also different.

    Gargling? I think a stock 360 sounds great, so do most.
    The CS and 360 has the same basic engine so they can't sound too different, the difference comes from the CS' sport exhaust. My friends 360 with Tubi sounds as good if not better then the 2 CS' I have heard. I guess it's all a matter of taste.

    As far as I am concerned, I think the latter sounds so much better. But of course, it is matter of taste. The difference between the above is just the exhaust system.

    My point was, that the exhaust system could make a huge difference of how the car sounds, eventhough the engines are the same.

    Ask a sounddesigner about that...

    You adapt the engine's sound by changing intake and exhaust parts! The 360 Modena as much as the M3 have a rather tinny sound coming from the std. exhaust but both on their respective sportier versions (Stradale and CSL) sound so much different and better (in my eyes)!

    Of course the basic layout of an engine is the most important part of it, but don't underestimate the influence of the above mentioned.
