Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

    Personalized Porsche Paperweight:

    Introducing the new 997.

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

That's cool. How on earth do you get these things? My supplying OPC nearly went into receivership when they gave me a free keyring! Looks cool.

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

Free keyring! HaHa. I think I got "NC" for my floor matts. We're lucky guys!

What's "missing" is a DVD of the new car. Not shown (photo is cropped) is a pocket in the cover flap which is perfect for a DVD but instead has a same size 4 page promo pamphlet.

Gotta go..., trying to find some paper which might blow away to see of it works.

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

I got mine today. What number was yours?

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

Got one too, and last month a nice 911 "To the Core" hardcover book and DVD-ROM. Porsche really wants to get me out of my 987S.

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

    You lucky things !!!

I got half a tank of fuel and a crappy key ring with my new 997.2 !!

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

You were lucky! My old salesman used to give me something amusing (unbrella, keyring etc) but the new one just giggled when I asked for the freebie!

The old guy is now selling me much more expensive toys!

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

How do we get such a lovely item? Just by being a Porsche owner?

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

I got mine Monday. It shows my name and "Badge No 5308". Pretty nice, if you bought something like this from the dealer it would probably cost at least $25 (and it wouldn't have your name on it). The day before I received in the mail a little booklet about designing the next Porsche. It gave me a personal code that allows me to sign onto the PCNA website and get some "exclusive" info about the upcoming Panamera. Haven't done it yet, I don't have a lot of interest in the Panamera.

Oh no, no, no, no, no..., not merely an "owner!" In the accompanying letter they've labeled me a "valued enthusiast."

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

I got #9832 in the mail today!

    A very impressive marketing trinket

    What's really FUNNY?????

When I got it in my grubby little hands and started opening it, I was thinking, "Hummmm..., this is HEAVY: must be something good!"

Visions of a wrist watch floated by. Finally got it open and found this "crummy" paperweight, nevertheless it was a highlight of the afternoon mail call.

    LOL.

    "Impressive, " indeed!

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

Didn't get mine, can I borrow yours to fix some rattles?

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

Rattle repair Goose? How about this 1/4 inch (6mm) mild steel plate? Can cut about two dozen PPPs out of this:

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

Oh..., and of course MB has the _crystal_ glass paperweight.

    Not personalized though!!!

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

Got mine today and it's surface looks like it was packed by someone with 4 inch fingernails .

When we collected our new car a couple of years ago we were even refused two key fobs (wanted them so we could identify the two keys for the seat memories) and was told that as they had given us free floor mats they couldn't give us a free second key fob (that thy were selling for Pounds2. I went into shipyard-ballistic mode and was given a leather pouch for the second key just to shut me up. We in the UK get no discount whatsoever, either, to add insult to injury.

We did get a full tank of fuel when we collected the car from the factory however.

Maybe with Porsche sales flagging (like all luxury goods at the moment) the time will come when they will regret their arrogant and complacent attitude towards customers.

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

WOW: "complimentary key fob refusal" that's bad. Makes me sick.

You know, I had read your comment before I got mine and still dug into that pocket hoping there WAS a DVD and that they merely forgot to put one in yours.

Nope , just the useless " brochure " with a couple of stock photos of the C4/S already seen everywhere on the net.

If they went through all this expense and bother ,even picking that soft velveteen paper box material , they could have SOLD MORE CARS TO CURRENT OWNERS with a DVD showing the new cars in action plus having a much more sophisticated and color accurate " build your own " feature than the one online .
    A marketing faux pas ,IMO.

    AWGGGGGGH!!! I WANT A DVD!!!!!!!

You're right. A DVD would have been fun thing to pop into the TV, and watch a little Porsche action. Would have "solidified" (?) the excitement produced by the PPP.

Then again, after one watching, the thing would be relegated to the dust pile.

At least the PPP has a chance of winding up on your desk (maybe for as long as a decade!) for other potential buyers to see.

I can say exactly the same about mine!

Re: Did You Get Your PPP In The Mail? WOW!

I got tank of fuel, leather pouch (am promised another for the second key), and a motorsport teddy bear (my little sister came with me and pointed out she liked it), am promised the umbrella for the passenger door
