there may be very few cars...today! This is as it always is with a model chageover or refrfesh. Don't try and further the myth that Porsche's wont be sitting on the lots, just as they are now. Seen the stock market lately? Seen the Housing market latley? Bentley's sales are WAY off, and so are Porsche's, (YTD). My point being simply that Porsche's are bought as a luxury item, by generally wealthy people, however, they are not immune to the economy. Sales will continue to slow, and Porsche will do what it takes to move inventory. Let us all hope it does not get too bad overall. In this market, porsche should be thankful for every sale they can get. Its ugly right now.

Lots and lots of cars available in UK. Perhaps the downturn is hitting harder here than in other countries?
A friend today was offered just Pounds42K for 11 month old Pounds81K new C2S. That was after the dealer rang round to get a better price. This was against a 997.5 with PDK in black - Pounds82K car.
He wisely told them where to go.
It's getting ugly out there....

Ouch! 50% depreciation in under a year is rough (I imagine with Tax and Registration Fees, the loss is even worse).

In UK there's dealer incentives for September if you can find a spare car you like. It seems to be about GBP 3k which helps a bit but I agree the UK market is a mess. Rumor has it Porsche are not releasing all cars that are available to buy and hold up prices/demand but I'm not sure.

It's a bit late for that - 100,000+ 997 out there!!
My experience is there is a glut of cars without homes, but they still won't drop unless it's pre-registered. I guess there could be differences between Porsche centres like Hatfield, Park Lane or Guildford and independents like Cambridge, East London and Solihull.

Agreed bridggar. BTW the offer is for September and October but only if the whole transaction completes in October if anyone's interested. Interesting apart from a cancelled order I can a get a change spec car in October so there are definitely cars out there. Also 80% of orders seem to be PDK cars so one wonders if a manual is going to be punished or a desirable rarity in a year or 2. The year one hit today appears to be GBP 22-25k on a decent spec C2S depending on who you talk at the moment. It doesnt look an awful lot better on a facelift for those thinking of swapping to a GT3 mk2 when it comes next year.

East London are very keen to get business.
You only need to go to the Waitrose car park at Canary Wharf to see why. Loads of 997.1, yet to see a 997.2 or any car with a 58 plate tbh.
Things are getting pretty dire.
I saw dozens of, what I would imagine under different circumstances, would be potential new car buyers at smollenskys and all bar one drowning sorrows at 3pm on Monday. Must have been an early finish.
All in possession of brown cardboard boxes saying Lehmann something.
