    Porsche Club GB Swiss Trip / My Honeymoon !!

    Got to say guys that I had the best honeymoon any man could wish for! I am one lucky boy!

    I don't have time to go into a 'EasyRider' level of details but sufficed to say in 11 days we covered some of the best driving roads on the planet in our group of 8 Porsches.

    Switzerland roads are simply sublime We even got to pop over to Italy for the infamous Stelvio Pass, then had a couple of days blasting down de-restricted Autobahns in Germany.

    Top of the Italian Stelvio pass is 2757m high. Let's just say Turbo Lag is a really big factor with such thin air. The GT2 was suffering even more than I was.

    Whole trip we must have done about 20 mountain passes, each at least 30-60 mins long. Sooooo much fun!

    Alex, It was a pleasure and a blast to have you and Nicky along for a special trip...

    Wow... must have been awesome!
    That pic of the interlaken show showing the rear of the GT2... that mountain top in the background, is that the Niesen? (Is the mountain south of Thun... I was on that top!

    Hope your wife also enjoyed the honeymoon?

    Many thanks for posting, you guys clearly had a blast

    I'm planning a similar trip for next year, I'd be grateful if you could give some details of these passes, apart from the Stelvio as I know that's south of Davos. I've heard that the Stelvio can be really busy with motorhomes and bikers that can spoil the fun, you clearly struck lucky.

    I wouldn't bother with the Stelvio again...
    It was great to do it the once and a bit of the holy grail sort of destination... (glad i've done it)

    Great views but the roads were too narrow for wide bodied cars, bikes were fine.. did I mention the one way tunnel where we all had to reverse !!

    There are way better passes to do than the Stelvio for sure...

    Susten, Grimsel, Nuferen, Fluela, Bermia and the one that surprised me was the Ofenpass.
    The last two you could do if you did like us a St Moritz round trip..

    You really are spoilt for choice, it depends what you want from your journey

    Sadly academic if the Swiss Tree Huggers are successful in banning any cars that emit in excess of 250g/km CO2 entering the country which is the current proposal. They've already banned installing air conditioning in new buildings, I believe.

    Don't think the greens are likely to get that bill through to be honest - too many wealthy powerful people who like their nice cars..

    If anyone would like some more info about Swiss passes, this is a good site: http://www.bikecam.ch It's motorbike-focussed, but has tons of info, pics, maps, videos, warnings about cameras, etc..
