    I don't see the point in all this exercise.
    I mean V10 version would be OK I guess. But to they (VAG) really have to make every possible version of a car type.
    Will there also be a hatchback or a sportcoupe version of R8?

    janus, what's the problem?
    There are Cabrio versions for the 911 & AMV8.
    There are Spider versions for the F430 & Gallardo.
    What's the problem with an open roof R8?

    I think it looks alright. I wouldn't buy one, but I could see how others, like girls, would buy one.

    May I remind you that almost all " girly " versions of iconic sports cars command $$$ more than their closed versions years later when " manly " men throw money at them at auction. Priced a Ferrari Daytona Spyder vs Coupe recently , as one of many examples ?

    It looks just ok, a TT in scale or something like that.
    Do you guys think the cabrio version will be as nice looking as the coupe?

    I actually am really liking the cab in these pics. But what's the back part of the top? Is that just camo? Further, would need to see pics of how it folds into the boot.

    The camo is probably hiding two headrest bulges, just like in the rendering.
    Those two bulges make the car much more interesting.

    Oh I hope not. I would prefer a flat back with clear bonnet, more like the 430. I will seriously consider the V10 Spyder over another 911 if it's out by the end of the year and priced under US$150K.

    Car seems wierd without side blades - would have liked the half blade better than none.

    ^ Really, I actually prefer it without the side blades. I thought they were hokey. Different strokes I guess. . .
