    Most efficient would be to use the 6flat Turbo from the CarreraS (not to mentione a tuned version of the 4pot 718 engine Smiley), but I recall Porsche claiming that the engine doesn't fit into the midengined car's engine bay. Also the GT4 track crowd probably prefers a NA engine anyway ?

    I expect the 718 Spyder/GT4 to be some kind of a 981 "Facelift" rather than something really new. A 718 Spyder with a real motorsport engine would be something I would have a closer look at - if they just add displacement and horses I am not so sure (maybe still a different story for a GT4 track regular, but not so for a canyon carver Spyder).

    Which NA motor? You once posted that the GT4 is confirmed to get the 4.0l GT3 engine, then took that statement back. I guess this opened for confusion and speculation

    I initially thought it was the GT3 motor when I head 4.0L, as that was the only one at 4.0L.

    Then I realize it will be the existing one boring out to 4.0L

    Others have said it remains at 3.8L.

    I stand by my assessment that it will be the old 3.8L boring out to 4.0L. Cheaper to do it this way to achieve 420HP than hotrodding the old 3.8L.

    The old 3.8L is not a Motorsport engine, but it is a race proven engine. Many have raced the GT4CS without engine problems.

    The old 3.8L is not a Motorsport engine, but it is a race proven engine. Many have raced the GT4CS without engine problems.

    Last time only the engine are the same but less HP for the Spyder and doesn't have the GT parts too.

    What about the brakes, chassis... etc this time?

    I would like to have a GT4 without roof.

    I am not so sure about that - I can imagine there will be quite a price increase and by adding some GT parts the marketing department can rationalise the price increase Smiley Whether this would really add value to a Canyon Carver (as opposed to a track oriented car) is another question.....I actually like the "old" analogue sport suspension in the 981 Spyder. As this is not available anymore with the 718 models the 718 Spyder probably also will get a (S)PASM suspension - just like the GT4. In this case it may be not a far stretch also to throw in some GT3 suspension parts.

    Thanks for posting, xpto kiss Funny that the car is equipped with a red top. Years ago there was also a black 981 Spyder mule with a red top though this was never available for customer cars

    Boxster Spyder and Cayman GT4 will share engines, based on the traditional naturally-aspirated flat-six engine... a future classic Porsche!

    It does not sound anything like a GT3 that is for sure Smiley
