I think this will be a very rare issue and maybe someone may have it and not get the driving rain or check the mat after it to notice it.... I was quite lucky I was just giving my car interior a dust that I noticed it.
Its great being back in my car - still feels brand new..... the garage has offered me some goodwill which is good of them...
