blueflame:Porsche Motorsport has built these one/of Rallye-Demo-cars often before (996/997GT3) - mostly for Walter Röhrl to drive as the first car at the Rallye Deutschland.
Let´s see, if this time is more behind...

Well Diess(VAG) doesn't want Le Mans. If he doesn't want Le Mans, he most certainly wont want F1, so maybe Porsche is looking at WRC in the future.

lexs4:Looks like they tweaked the GT3 wheel design for the GT4. Bit sharper than the GT3, thicker spokes? Or maybe just looks different being 5 bolt and not center lock.
I think part of what makes the GT3 wheel look so good is that deeper design that goes in towards the centre lock (don't know if there's an actual term for that in wheel design) These look very "flat" in my opinion, both literally and figuratively.

It does look great. Close to identical to the .1 
Except for the wing which is a bit over-dimensioned (hopefully not the final design) and the exhaust pipe configuration which I don't like at all. The twin pipe design on the .1 and on the GT3 does look much better IMHO... but I guess they needed to fit the turbo chargers somewhere

watt:.... And black is not flattering and besides Sun would have to wash it. Sun has one on order, I wonder if it will be GT Silver? Such a pleasure to think of having lugs again!!

It makes more sense to use the Cayman as a rally car as the 911 , because of the size of the car . The 911 got way too big to be a good rally car . Just look at what the competition uses . VW uses the Polo, Toyota the Yaris etc...

Looks can be deceiving The Cayman has near identical exterior dimensions to the Carrera.
I was surprised when I once looked this up because I considered the GT4 to be a smaller car than the 991... but no.

I saw the 718 GT4 twice yesterday coming out from the Manthey facilities at the Ring .
First time I was on the phone and not paying attention , it passed right next to me .... only once passed did I realize what it was .
About an hour later , again on the same spot , but on the other side of the round about .
It was the black car , with hardly any camo left , expect a little bit on the back lights . I could not hear what kind of engine it was, he was driving in a very high gear at low speed ......
Basically looked like a 718 with a big wing :-)

I heard yesterday that new GT4 is definitely on the way with a naturally-aspirated flat-six engine with a particulate filter. It would have been launched already, but for the factory shut-down and new certification for the engine.
Seems they understand the value of a "halo" model for the 718 range...
