    Say hello to my new 911 Carrera S (2009 MKII)

    My long awaited 911 is here....picked him up yesterday, see enclosed first small pic...more to follow for sure.

    First impression: the waiting was worth it! Car is stunning! And I am happy with my configuration.

    I am happy for any comment or question.

    I believe you drove a Porsche before the new 997. Describe your comparison with your previous car please. Particularly I would be interested to read about your impressions as regards the LSD if you can single out the effects of this item.

    Thanks for your reply...not yet to sort out, I will report back. What I can say is that the sport chassis is more handy and less bumpy than the old one, since its now also passed on PASM. ...if you know what I mean...

    Did you have a - 20 mm before ? I am very interested in the difference between the old classic - 20mm and this new PASm -20 mm

    No I didn't had it before... My impression is, since you now have the option to change the buffer settings (normal/sport), the PASM Sport is now more capable for daily driving or non even roads. In Sport it as strong and stable as sports chassis.

    Another effect is, that (IMO) car looks better since lower.

    As conclusion...I am really happy choosing it!

    She...or him....!? We had that discussion before. You know in german we have "male/female" articles.... Its "der Porsche"....therefore I said him. Looking at 911s back its definitely very female. I am always smiling when I look into the mirrors...

    Thanks...I will definitely post more pics!

    Interieur...I picked the Alcantara steering wheel... very nice!

    And the PCM 3.0 is a 10! From my point of view, tremendous step forward! iPod is so lovely!

    Awesome and thanks for the picture! I ordered mine with the -20mm PASM because I track it a lot and am hoping this will be a good street and track solution for me. How does the suspension feel compared to the standard PASM?

    How is the power difference from the 355hp 997S? Is the engine sound real quiet like the past stock configurations? I have Fabspeed mufflers on my 07 997S but they will not fit the new car.

    I am really happy with ordering PASM Sport. My impression is that the "normal" mode is something like the former PASM Sport.... sport is obviously stronger and really flat.

    To early to judge on the power difference... since I am still running-in that car. Honestly I would wonder if you would recognize the difference ad hoc...I expect the more overall motor impression is slightly more powerful than the predecessor.

    Engine sound...my impression its the same as the before without PSE. Anyhow I have PSE on order, which will be retrofitted in Nov-2008.

    My take is that PSE is a must for such a car...strange that it is not available from start.

    Definitely the normal mode is more forgiving. No hassle to take your partner out...

    I just come back from the dealer where I had them place an order for the PSE and the answer from Porsche is that PSE.2 will only be available through Tequipment
    in feb 2009 . On new cars it will be in nov.

    Cogratulations, but how do you know that the car is stunning? You're probably in the break in period, right? So there are not so many things you can comment on apart from the optional equipment...
