    Also reported: the reasonably priced car will be a Kia Rio and the first two celebrities to get a run in it will be Howie Mandel and Scary Spice.

    I wonder if they're going to have a stig...

    Why change a successful formula?
    I don't see a problem with them copying it - of course they'll need to tweak some things because the British'ism won't translate to an American audience (i.e. slamming American muscle cars for being all braun, no refinements - cheeky humor/dry wit, etc. etc.)

    I believe the original producers have no say in the US Top Gear, and they are not happy with it. The Australian Top Gear on the other hand is fully produced by the same team. They have learned from the American mistake.

    wow, i wasnt aware there was an australian version as well. Are there any videos on Youtube? would like to see how they executed it.

    If this show is as bad as "supercars uncovered" and other SPEED CHANNEL TV shows... then I imagine most current USA top gear fans will stick with the UK version.

    The US interpretation of a UK show rarely goes well at least in my opinion.

    Andy Wilman (the producer of TG UK) is also the producer of the American version.

    I still think this show will crash and burn but if it is successful then good for them.

    Otherwise they will have more success just airing the UK version on BBC USA or something like this.
