    Turbo Aero Kit

    I am going to build a 997 turbo and was wondering if anyone had thoughts on the optional aero kit? I am likely going with the 2010 turbo, so availability may be delayed. Also has anyone seen the optional black painted turbo wheels? The ones with the same machined surfaces as stock, but with the color changed from the standard greyish color to black. Both options are typical Porsche pricey, but I thought they might look good on the car. Opinions welcome.

    The current 997 Turbo Aerokit is very, very similar to the one on the 996 Turbo and 996 C4S. I for one really like it. If I were to order a 997 Turbo, I'd get the Aerokit because, while you may not make use of the enhanced aerodynamics, it still looks great and will make it look a bit different than the standard car which, by the way, looks great too. Many here will disagree about having an Aerokit but it's up to individual tastes and, at least, it is functional and less extravagant than others from the aftermarket.

    bet you cant wait...i personally dont care much for the tt aerokit as i think it is contrived looking and detracts from the already a little busy lines....a wheel option im waiting to see is the rs imo that will be far more appealing than the variants currently offered....obviously you can do the interior as done as ones budget allows...have fun

    Had it on my 996TT and not on my 997TT. I could not justify the cost this time (app. US$7K) and spent my $$ on PCCB, LSD, SSK, SC, ASS and other types of performance enhancements. Thought it looked better on the 996 because, as noted above, the 997TT is already a busy styling exercise...

    I love it, wish they had it when I ordered mine. I had it on my c4s, awsome and functional too.
    20% more downforce and .2 less drag.

    Thanks for the opinions. It is expensive, but I would opt to have the front lip, side skirts and rear apron painted if I do not go with the aero kit. So, I fiqure it's only $5k instead of $7k. I'm sure it will yield next to nothing when it's time to sell.

    The rear wing is to my eyes awkward/cumbersome and detracts from the flowing line of the car. Makes it look like a hunchback. Not as unattractive as the GT3's "folded taco" wing (the LEAST attractive of all 911's IMHO), but coming close. In addition, it doesn't improve enough the one glaring weakness of the Turbo, the front lip area.
    Purely a matter of personal preference, just my 2 cents, etc.

    My vote is for the Techart Kit, much more tastefully done. The Techart front lip is much better to my eyes.

    Techart; IMHO much better front, side, and rear treatment. eclou has this kit I think and he keeps tempting me by posting pictures! I love that front lip. Sigh.

    As far as wheel, the painted look won't hide the multiple slat busy look of the stock wheel. Plus stock is heavy, with associated penalty in handling, etc. My vote is after-market. You know the routine : Champion, HRE, PES, and now even the central-lock RS Spyder style wheel is available!

    I was not impressed with the pictures either but when I finally saw one in person, wow wish they were offered from day one. Great looking piece kinda like funcitional art.

    PAG makes a claim on the Porsche website, but I do not recall it being as generous as the one posted by Chris. However, I am not refutting his claim.

    I thought those BiXenons were for the facelift cars and not out yet?
